Morning Cathy! Nice to see you back on the site. I heard that as well and the sad thing is that it took so long for his invention to be widely accepted that the patent ran out before he could get his just reward.

He also wrote frequent regular articles for the two main British archaeology magazines and ran numerous local projects to help ordinary folk find the expertise and funding to dig their own archaeology sites.

When I was in Berlin after the war we always sat with the old Wehrmacht men in the bars and talked to them, most of the Border Guards we worked with were veterans too. With very few exceptions they were good blokes and we got on well with them.

Am i jumping the gun or should I assume that there will be no more comments from any of you regarding the passing of David Frost?
I'm surprised, I would have thought some of you would have thought of him quite highly.

His funeral has taken place today. I had thought there would have been some adverse comments about him by now, but I haven't seen any - with the possible exception of the fact that he paid Nixon a lot of money for the famous interview.
Steven Fry (The ubiquitous one) said -
"David Frost's funeral - so sad. He was a wonderful father, husband and friend. The only people who didn't like him hadn't met him."
Tripps said -
'Either he'll be canonised - or he knows where the bodies are buried'.
