Yesterday was bright and very cold but dry. At 20:00 it was calm, clear and a hard frost setting in. This morning it is the same. At least -7C from the feel of it. The glass is up on 1022mb and rising. The forecast is for a similar day to yesterday, lopts of sun. The Easterly wind is light to moderate and gives a high of 1C and a low of -3C with as much as a -6C wind chill later in the day. The outlook shows a warm up from late Saturday onwards, we could even see double figures next week! (Calm down Dear....)

Hee hee Cathy, I think I'd rather have our frost than your oven.
I've just been out for a short walk to look at the rabbit. It's still clear and calm. We have a very hard frost, I'd say about -7C. Warm in here...
05:35. Just reported, -21.4C in Braemar Scotland.

Sea breezes coming in now, so doors open to a refreshing cool.
We did alright today in the heat, due to cloud cover. It was nasty and hot if you poked your head out, but cool inside the house. We had an early walk and took it pretty easy for the rest of the day. I watered the pot plants early, as it was 26 C by 0.830 am.
We have had a mere sprinkle of rain this evening, but it dried up as soon as it hit the ground and we are still about 24C I think.
Dinner done, dishes done, doors and windows open to catch the slightest breeze, and finishing off the last half a glass of wine from dinner. No bed coverings needed tonight!

One saving grace against the heat, is that the great majority of or bottom floor is ceramic tiles. They keep things cool in Summer and warm in Winter. All of our top floor is wonderful lacquered timber. No carpet up there. Ceiling fans help too. No need for air conditioning. Big windows open up everywhere to catch the sea breeze.

You're right Gloria. My mother always used to tell me this was healthy weather and that 'A green winter means a full church yard' but I see now the scientists say cold weather helps the virus. Was mother wrong?
Yesterday was bright and cold. At 20:00 it was calm, clear and very cold. Same first thing this morning and it hasn't changed since. The glass is up on 1026mb and still rising slowly. The forecast is for yet another bright cold dry day. The east wind is a bit stronger today and gives a high of 0C and a low of -4C with a wind chill of as much as -7C. Later today the perceived temperature will fall to -10C when the winds are strongest. Another cold day. The outlook gives another two cold days with possible rain or snow on Sunday. After that the weather is much warmer and perhaps wetter.
05:20. Short walk to inspect the car park. Calm, dry, cloudy and a very hard frost.

You were lucky Gloria, we had our coldest day of the year I think.
I went for a twenty minute walk yesterday afternoon and when I got back my face was numb. The forecast predicted -10C with the wind chill and the wind was brisk. Gave me jaw ache! At 20:00 it was still breezy, clear and very cold. Same first thing this morning, I've just been out for a look at the rabbit and we have the breeze again with a clouded sky, very cold. The glass is up a touch on 1027mb and steady. The forecast is for a cloudy but dry day. There is a yellow weather warning for anywhere that has any rain because it will freeze as soon as it hits the ground and ice can be expected. The constant brisk SE wind gives a high of -1C and a low of -2C tonight. At the moment it's -4C with a -7C wind chill, feels like -11C, that's cold. Tomorrow the overall temperature is warmer but still below freezing and we have rain forecast, another yellow warning for instant ice. After that the outlook is for much warmer weather, almost into double figures!
05:00. I'm not going out for a walk, I can tell you from the warmth of the kitchen that it is bitter cold out there but dry.

Yesterday I had a walk to the post box in the afternoon and like the day before, it was face ache cold. At 20:00 it was dry, breezy and just as cold. Same this morning but perhaps a tad warmer? Still freezing. The glass is down on 1020mb. The forecast is for it to be overcast and dry until this afternoon when we can expect rain and it may be freezing rain. The wind starts in the NE but by the end of the day is in the South and will be strong, gusting to 45mph perhaps. High of 4C and the low is the same. Wind chill of -6C this afternoon. The perceived temperature all day will be sub zero and there is a yellow warning of ice. Tomorrow is a complete change with 10C forecast and similar for the next five days.
05:15. I've had a walk of inspection and it is still cold but not as cold as it has been. We have a frost but it is so dry that it doesn't show on the cars. Very unusual weather and I wouldn't be surprised if the warnings of super-cooled rain this afternoon are correct. It's a long time since I saw an ice storm.....

Yesterday remained super cold in that strong wind. I didn't go out in it. At 20:00 it was still windy and cold and we had rain but it wasn't freezing rain, just very very cold! This morning it was a lot warmer, broken cloud and only a light breeze. I've just looked out and it's still the same, a totally different morning. Wendy should be excused bucket duties today but a lot of people might find they have burst pipes this morning. The glass is down on 1010mb. The forecast is for the cloud to break this morning and give sunny intervals this afternoon. The moderate south wind swings to SSW this afternoon and gives a high of 10C and a low of 7C with a -3C wind chill. It will never feel below freezing. The outlook for the next five days is for similar clement weather with perhaps the chance of some rain.
05:20. I've inspected the car park and war memorial. The light breeze is chilly but nowhere near as cold as the last week. It's dry and the cloud looks to be breaking. A far better morning.

Yesterday was a totally different day, compared with last week, almost tropical! At 20:00 it was calm dry and mild. It was the same first thing this morning but slid overcast as far as I could see. There was evidence there had been a light shower during the night. I've just looked outside and the forecast is right, we have a light breeze and light rain. The glass is down again on 1000mb. The forecast is for a cloudy wet start to the day, drying up briefly late morning and then sunshine and showers this afternoon. The constant SW wind is brisk and gusts to 30mph giving a high of 9C and a low of 5C tonight with a -3C wind chill. The outlook for the next five days is for similar weather, no cold spell in sight.....
05:20. I have had a look at the rabbit and we have a mild morning, almost calm and light continuous rain. Exactly as per the forecast.

That looks like a quiet evening Cathy. Roll on the time when we are light at 20:00 again!
Yesterday turned out very pleasant in the afternoon. At 20:00 it was still dry but we had a bit of a breeze. This morning first thing it was calm and there were some stars visible but at the same time there were a few large rain drops falling. I've just looked outside and it's dry but we have more wind now. The glass is down slightly on 998mb. The forecast is for rain in the next two hours but after that a dry day with sunny intervals. The wind is a brisk SW gusting to 35mph in the next few hours then reducing. The high will be 9C and the low 7C with a wind chill of -4C. The outlook is for similar weather to this for the next five days.
05:00. We still have a brisk wind and isolated rain drops, but no proper rain yet.
