Morning

Yes 800 m is a big swim , and Eves favourite distance. I once asked her why she preferred it rather than 100 m. Her answer was ‘ Who wants to go fast’. She did however go fast yesterday as well as her distance sprint. Not all competitions are broadcast live on you tube but its nice when they are. I am known to do a little loud cheering whilst sat in the conservatory with a cuppa.

This morning its back to normal with french at Haslingden, this afternoon we are off to Clitheroe for a specific wine hunt for next Saturdays u3a wine tasting. I have decided not to do yoga this evening but will give my hand another days rest. The studio is closed for a few days this week as it is funeral of the owners Mum on Wednesday , the closure days coincide with my classes so it makes sense to give this evening a miss and thus having a full week off.

Bob has put the three doors back on , making 4 out of the 8 doors now painted. The remaining 4 will be more difficult as it involves pulling fitted carpets back. Some time today I will put the contents of the cupboards back that I had to remove so I could paint the doorways inside .

Its due to be a nice day, in fact a nice week. Have a good day

Morning Sue! Nice to see you have managed to get on the site.... Ian says we are not out of the woods yet! Glad the painting went well and yes, it makes sense to give your wrist a full week off.
I had an hour in bed. As soon as the sun breaks out I shall be out in the backyard spray-painting my castings.... I shall have to start thinking about veggie shopping, last weeks batch will be getting into a corner soon. Amazing how fast it comes round.... :good:

What I do in the shed this morning depends on how well yesterday's paint dried. (Yes I popped out into the yard later with a spray can!)
Then a shop at Co-op for the necessary peppers etc. to go in with the chicken I shall roast tomorrow.

The paint I applied yesterday was dry so I got all the parts on to the surface plate. Then I cleaned the lathe because I fancied putting the flywheel in there and refining the finish after splashing it with black paint. By closing time I had a nice selection of engine parts looking black and shiny.... No I want my breakfast.

Morning

I have given up on my non germinating seeds and have decided they must have got baked in the greenhouse at the same time as the fuchsias became a crumpled mess. I have replanted runner beans which are now sprouting but have decided to plant the seeds direct into the appropriate spots in the garden before we go to France and see what happens, otherwise buy some mature plants on our return. So a little gardening is required before we go to France.

I have a cousin who lives in New Zealand, found through genealogy. We have met up twice in England and once in France ( she is part French as is her husband) over the last three years. She is in France again now for a long holiday so last night we booked a 4 day break in the Dordogne in mid May to meet her yet again. We love the Dordogne so it will be a pleasant trip twice over

Another lovely start to the day, its due to be warm but cloudy. I have a short appointment this morning and an asthma revue this afternoon, but otherwise I hope to get some of the kitchen walls emulsioned. Bob has now finished the ceiling and washing down on top of the cupboards. The big job of pulling the dresser and the fridge freezer out may have to wait till we get back from France as we both have a busy week and weekend ahead. Have a good day all

This morning I shall get my chicken in the oven before going in the shed to do useful things to my engine. I shall deal with the results after second sleep and then go out to enjoy traffic duty in the sun. I did my veggie shopping yesterday so tomorrow is veggie cooking!
Later at 05:00.... My chicken is in the oven with it's usual spices, tomatoes, onions and peppers. In under 4 Hours it will be superb!

This morning I started by drilling all the clearance holes in the lugs on the bed and base to accept the 2BA holding down bolts and the six No. 6 3/4" brass screws that hold the base onto the plinth. Then I used those holes as the template for marking the positions of the 4 X 2BA threaded holes in the face of the base. I fit them one at a time so that I always know they are going to be aligned. As you can see I have two fitted and tightened down. I shall drill and tap for the other two tomorrow. At the moment my mind is on breakfast.

Morning

Yesterday was busy. We both did a good days painting in the kitchen Bob doing high and me doing low. Moving the fridge and dresser are still to be done but everything looks clean fresh and bright and worth all the effort. Bob went to the park in the afternoon and after my asthma review I spent some time sorting the garden so that it can be left for the three weeks we are away. I planted some herbs that I bought from B&M on way back home , potted up my few remaining fuchsias and sunk the pots into troughs of soil, and I made my wigwam of canes so I can plant out my runner beans which are now sprouting well. All my other seeds I shall tip into a large trough of soil and see if they germinate whilst we are away. Finally I gave everything a good watering.

This morning it is the hairdressers for both of us then this afternoon I have sewing with Maxine. It will be hot in her conservatory which she has converted into her sewing room. Yes another hot day forecast. Have a good day all.

Morning Sue, nice to see you on the site and making good progress towards the next stay in France.
Yes, it's going to be hot today and tomorrow as well but after that we can expect more seasonal temperatures.... As usual we shall take it as it comes. Have a good day and don't get too hot! :biggrin2: :good:

I have retreated to the lounge to cool off before I go to Maxines. As it will be unbearable hot there in her conservatory I have put on a summer dress. Bob has decided to move the dresser and the fridge freezer. I am glad I am going out !

I shall be in the shed early doors being useful. Two things occupy my day after that, cooking veggies and voting in the Local Elections. Both important! I shall do the cooking first....

Apologies for the intrusion, here's the image with the BBCode
More work building the engine up. First I drilled and tapped for the remaining two 2BA holding down bolts that fasten the bed to the base and fitted them Next, I dressed the bed of the crosshead down to get rid of the paint and milling marks on it and then re-fitted the crosshead guides. Next I re-installed the studs in the horns of the bed and re-fitted the bottom bearing brass, the crankshaft and the top bearing caps and checked for fit. They are perfect, just a shade too tight but that's how they should be before running in, so I fitted the collar on the shaft which acts as the spacer to give the flywheel clearance from the plinth and then installed the flywheel using Loctite 638. That's enough for one morning, I want my breakfast!

Morning

We have no elections today, I believe there is only one in Greater Manchester. It is however our 54 th Wedding Anniversary….

The kitchen is finished, even behind the dresser and the fridge freezer. All decorating will now cease for a bit. Bob made great progress whilst I was at Maxines. I too made progress there though we retreated to the cooler dining room.

This morning is art at Haslingden then my afternoon appointment is cancelled. Its going to bewarm and sunny. Have a good day all.

I'd say that's because Sue adds pictures (as I do ) by means of attaching an image. Stanley uses the Gallery. I've had the gallery explained many times, but still haven't got the hang of it. Attaching an image is straightforward, and makes sense at each stage.
There is the added benefit that you can see how many views the picture has had, and get an idea of its appeal.

I believe there are memory issues but when such colossal amounts of memory are available in the cloud the amounts concerned seem trivial.

The simplicity of it all makes attachments attractive to me. Let Helga sort it out.
