Its -5.5 degrees but only a fine sprinkling of snow . There is no more snow forecast for today. I have decided not to go to French as I think my coughing will drown out the conversation. I hope to get a GP appointment , fingers crossed. Otherwise I have no plans for today. Have a good day all

Apparently the cough is linked to the medication for clearing the sinusitis. Which has obviously done its trick loosening all the catarrh ! Probably had a mild dose of flu too, mild because I had the vaccination . I now have antibiotics and a different type of nasal spray. I don’t care as long as it works its been a bad few weeks

I hope that cures it Sue and I'm so glad that they have come up with an explanation. You are intelligent enough to have done a lot of worrying about what looked like a breakdown of your immune system. As clear a case of an iatrogenic ailment as I have ever seen.....

This morning the shed is even colder than yesterday as the frost sinks into the walls, so I shall not be going in there this morning. I shall have an early breakfast and second sleep.
Later, I shall have to risk a trip to the Co-op for milk. I shall be very careful! After that it's going to be a case of keeping warm and well fed!

It was bitterly cold yesterday but luckily not much snow. We will not be so lucky today as quite a bit is forecast. Over in France Laetitia and family are experiencing the worst snow we have ever seen since we bought our house, several centimetres. The roads are hardly gritted except the dual carriageways so routes are impassable. She sent videos of Yves and Valentin having snowball fights

I have to go to the pharmacist this afternoon to collect the rest of my prescription but otherwise will stay warm inside and I shall do my pilates and yoga online this evening. I shall keep myself happy with some sewing as I have a big bundle of polar fleece and found a pattern to go with it. I shall be busy. The little fleece jacket I will make will come in handy as an extra layer in this weather. Have a good day all

Morning Sue! The snow situation is the same here. I am back in the warm. I went to the Co-op in the snow and slush, got my milk and a couple of treats and minced back home. I survived, largely because it is so cold the snow hasn't thawed and re-frozen so it is not super slippy. I hope to be able to stay indoors now until the present cold snap is ended.
I shall be thinking about you Sue and hoping the ABs hit the spot!

Ah, now I understand. Thanks David.... It is still cold in the shed but not as cold outside as yesterday so I am going to be a brave little lad and go in there and do something useful! It's raining at the moment and the wind is rising, I did my shopping yesterday and so I shall not be going for a walk later, I shall be watching the sun brewing up two bad days to come.....

I braved the cold and did 45 minutes in the shed this morning. I started on sizing and refining the brasses needed for the crank pin bearing that will eventually be on the end of the connecting rod.Having made a good start on these I went looking for my breakfast.

Woke up late after a not very sound nights sleep. As I fall to sleep that the coughing starts, not a tickle but a full on cough till you choke. Hope the penicillin kicks in soon.

This morning is clear dry and bright with not an inkling of the 8 cm of snow forecast. Instead we had hours of heavy rain. I don’t think any is forecast today. Meanwhile Laetitia and co in France are struggling on ungritted roads and thick snow. They have really been hit badly.

This afternoon I have sewing with Maxine, this evening zoom pilates if I can stop coughing long enough. Have a good day all

In this case no treatment was definitely worse, at least the three week headache has gone

Morning Sue. I'm glad you have lost the headache and sorry the cough hasn't yet succumbed to the medication. I hope you see an improvement over the next few days. I have just come down after second sleep and a hot shower. The only thing I have to report is that after 30 years of having my bedroom window open a crack because I like to feel the air move on my face as I lie in bed this morning I closed it! The WNW wind coming in was bitter. Whether this is a product of the severity of Storm Goretti or simply my advancing years I don't know, but it's shut!
