Glad you had a good break Sue, it will set you up for whatever Rochdale winter throws at you. At the moment it isn't bad.
Here the washing is nearly done I shall deal with my pork belly before it finishes.

Later.... The duvet covers are washed and hanging over the bannister rail to dry. The pork belly is bubbling quietly in the slow cooker and I havr just finished putting the clean duvet covers back on my bed.
Now I can enjoy my dinner!

I shall de-fat my pork belly first and then go in the shed as usual early doors to do more work on fitting the con-rod. The only other thing I can think of is that I need to get milk later so that will mean a short walk to the Cathedral Of Choice.

A nice half hour fitting the con rod to the crank pin brass and then fitting it on the engine. It runs beautifully and I am now ready to move forward. But for now, breakfast!

Morning

It was a very wet drive home but we took our time driving the scenic route, not that we saw much scenery . We stopped a couple of times, a bit of shopping, a bit of browsing antiques and stopped for a drink. We expected to have breakfast at the cafe across the road from our lodge but it no longer does breakfast, we did however find a suitable cafe inAmbleside. We bought some cleaning agents I particularly like in Lakeland in Windermere, a small joint of lamb and some veg from Booths in Kirby Lonsdale and a couple of small items at Watershed Mill in Settle. We were home by three, unpacked by 4 and most of the washing done through out the evening.

I have french at Haslingden this morning, its due to be 9 degrees and drizzle. Have a good day all

Morning Sue! I like the idea of gently shopping your way down the country. I wish I had a pound for every time I drove that road.... it was my way out to Scotland, in the early days via Kendal and Shap, later on to the M6 just before Kendal. I hope you are right about it staying dry.....
