Slow cooking is my preference Eileen. I hare to see good grub being rushed, part of the restaurant culture cutting time down cooker to table particularly with steak. Slow cooked meat is far better than half cooked flash fried!
Mackerel butty for tea to get long chain Omega-3 intake in line with meat.

Never quite got on with Calamari Eileen.... Last night's tea was a pork pie and a bowl of Stewart's dry cured bacon ribs. There's something very satisfying about gnawing on bones held in the fingers!

Moh and Ian... True, but if she pops in to have a look it will be nice if she sees her name mentioned. I haven't written anyone off. Yesterday was a day of small things, mainly high protein, beans and eggs with only two slices of bread. I'm taking my cue from daughter Janet who is on a high protein diet to combat fatigue. It's good for my weight as well. Lots to be said for a good fatty blood pudding!

I looked at what was available (shopping day today) and found half a black pudding and the remains of a bag of spuds. So, mashed potatoes, baked beans, black pudding and an egg on top. Not exciting but good nourishing food!

True! Eventually I made beans on toast with a heggy on top! I shall try to be more disciplined today but I find that when I get engrossed in writing I tend to lose my appetite. Re-posting topics and writing articles might even be a good slimming ploy!

I had an unusual tea. I made a sausage casserole and cooked it slowly. The gravy was so rich I simply spread some on a slice of bread and clapped another slice on top. Pretty good......!
