First week of Wimbledon and I followed Nigella Lawson's recipe, lightly dust the strawberries with icing sugar and pile cream on top.
Pile cream does not enhance the Wimbledon experience

Apparently this is true, not a joke. The BBC has put a trailer video for an upcoming nature programme on somewhere like Facebook or YouTube but the censor algorithm went overboard and the voice-over said `Let's see how many blue [beeeep] are in the nest box this year'. You'll be glad to know the BBC complained and managed to get the unexpurgated version allowed!

Reminds me of the hilarity my US students descended to when they found we had a pudding called spotted Dick.

I've missed Tommy Cooper.
Mind you, the egg knocked his hat off!

I could never understand whether he was a serious bad performer or a bad serious one. I think that was his intention....

In a piece about Nigeria I heard mention of Good Luck Jonathan*, former President of Nigeria. It brought to mind our very own Good Luck Johnson, President of England!
*Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan GCFR, GCON. Wikipedia says:
Jonathan's government has largely been described as corrupt. According to The Economist, corruption flourished under the Jonathan administration, "who let politicians and their cronies fill their pockets with impunity." Well, at least that wouldn't happen here, would it?
