My experience while diagnosing the problem was that the dropouts lasted anything between 20 seconds and a couple of minutes, no more than that. Frequently the site would be up for periods of 10 to 30 minutes between the errors, very annoying but not unusable with a few retries.
It's looking good so far today from my time on the site.

The scenario is as I experienced it.

Don't talk daft! The odds of picking 6 correct numbers to win the lottery are over 14,000,000 to 1 but it happens on a frequent basis. Your post intimates you tried to access the site four times over a 48 hour period. Perfectly feasible that you could have hit a down time each attempt.
"Do you think that Cheltenham may be watching due to the level of political debate"
No - although that scenario would suit for conspiracy enthusiasts.
The fault was with "kundenserver.de" which is one of 1&1's firewall servers, fact.

Attempts made nearer to 50 than 4 and from 5 machines, with different internet service providers, I tried to give you the facts, to enable you to have a greater understanding, seems I wasted my time.
Re: WHAT ATTRACTED YOUR ATTENTION TODAY?
The one fact I can give is that I haven't seen the problem at all, OG has worked fine for me. It's all down to when you happened to be online. Panbiker has given you the facts about the 1&1 server, what else do you expect him to do? Perhaps your ISP(s) also have problems that are making your experience different to mine. You should show a bit of gratitude to Panbiker for his efforts to explain what's going on, there's no need for you to be so belligerent.

Never had a problem here in Ireland, but there again our system is turf fired, it lies dormant when not in use but a quck riddle and away it goes, my only problem is reading moans from old women who have nothing better to do, get a life, go and get drunk, find a loose woman, or whatever turns you on, but dont bore us with information that is irrelevant

Isn't it amazing how the Gods distribute retribution. Using my investment in the latest products of those pesky scientists I made all my posts despite the drop-outs. The delay was annoying but I filled it by putting Solitaire up and playing while I waited for the connection to re-establish. My glass was half full.
My attention is engaged this morning by anticipation of my adventure this afternoon. I shall report later God willing.

Re: WHAT ATTRACTED YOUR ATTENTION TODAY?
At no time have I moaned about two days loss of site access, I would not have bothered had not others mentioned before myself, the loss caused me no inconvenience, and my actions were only to ascertain wether I had a local problem. The postings were made to assist in the problem, and the only belligerance noted was from the man who undertook to address the problem. Now go back and reread the posts.

Told today of an adolescent regularly shinning up the drainpipe of an empty house and then running along the top of the whole terrace of roofs, hiding behind the chimney pots as he went. Reported to the police.
Re: WHAT ATTRACTED YOUR ATTENTION TODAY?
Well done, it sounds like he needs saving from himself. He's probably high in more ways than one! A house in our village was used for some years to provide accommodation for youths who had gone astray. It had a thatched roof and some of the youths used to climb out and onto the thatch - it didn't do the thatch a of of good and the people who let the house to the youth organisation must have ended up paying a fortune to get it re-thatched and to deal with the ingress of water.

Good point Tiz. Thank God we had a good government in 1945! Watch these Tories as they nibble away at the biggest social benefit of the 20th century. They are ignorant Philistines.
What attracted my attention was the sympathy and care I have received from everyone. Brilliant..... Thanks to everyone.

Re: WHAT ATTRACTED YOUR ATTENTION TODAY?
I am on a voyage of discovery with my Belgian lens.... I have realised that my brain is working on the new situation. Inside the house I don't need glasses for anything because my brain is switching between the left and the right as vision demands. I've put all my reading glasses away and the regime now is that inside the house I need no glasses unless watching TV, outside I use the old distance glasses with the left lens removed. In both cases better than before using different glasses. The brain is a wonderful thing if you give it time to make the adjustments.

Re: WHAT ATTRACTED YOUR ATTENTION TODAY?
I know I'm rabbiting on but I have one last update for you. Having realised I didn't need glasses for anything in the house because my brain is getting used to the new situation and making it's own adjustments I decided not to confuse the messages and went out with Jack for our walk with no glasses, simply relying on my brain to pick the eye which was most effective. It worked! Obviously nowhere near perfect and it can't be until the other one is done but more than adequate, if there had been a 5p on the pavement I'd have seen it. First time for over 70 years I have dared to go out without glasses. If that isn't progress I don't know what it is. By the way, only 36 hours since I was on the table.... Brilliant!
So, apart from eye protection when frying, no more glasses for me.

Like me, slightly out of focus but you'll have to get used to this version! (My friend Jackie complimented me yesterday on my nice even tan. I told her it was rust.....

Re: WHAT ATTRACTED YOUR ATTENTION TODAY?
A postscript to the final bulletin. I realised I'll need reading glasses. I shall get those banker's glasses you can peer over the top of!
What attracted my attention this morning was mail from a great grand daughter of The Rev Lewis who wrote the history of the Baptists in Barlick. She had found my transcription in Rare Texts and it gave me a warm glow to realise the is a very happy lady because it's the first time she has found it or read it! Isn't it nice when someone takes the trouble to let you know. That mail alone makes all those hours in front of the screen worth while.

Terrible things like babies starved to death and hundreds drowned in the Med while escaping to freedom. There are awful things happening in the world and we should never forget how fortunate we are.

Re: WHAT ATTRACTED YOUR ATTENTION TODAY?
Big happenings in Sydney Harbour today. The Royal Australian Navy Fleet Review Spectacular put on a wonderful show involving an armada of warships from 14 nations and visiting tall ships. There were also 5000 spectator boats.
Our Navy brought it all together beautifully. Very impressive to see those huge vessels all together and following each other thru the harbour. Lots of gun salutes and a 100 gun salute. Lots of activities planned to last all day and then a fireworks and laser lightshow this evening. The Navy say it will ‘out do’ our New Years Eve fireworks show, can’t wait to see it later.
There were 6000 sailors involved – imagine them being let loose in Sydney, hehe Oh dear.
Lots of dignitaries ofcourse, but all eyes were on Prince Harry doing his duty wonderfully as the Queens representative and inspecting the warships, and looking very va-va-voom in this Navy Whites.
(Oh... and the weather was perfect – sorry Pluggy
