I know Maz. Look at the enormous amount of calories the Eskimo eat....
Steak pudding chips and peas for dinner yesterday. I boiled some bacon ribs to get the salt out and grilled them. Tea was a messy nibble on them and topped up with fruit, nuts and a couple of those lovely Israeli Dates that Gulam sells.... Incredibly expensive but streets ahead of ordinary dates, so big and juicy and no sticky syrup coating on them....

That sounds good Maz. Always fancied Wild Boar.....
I put what was left of the sausage and beans in with the remaining spuds and carrots. Extended with frozen peas and brought back up to a gentle simmer on the stove. A small bowl for dinner and tea. Hardly any added condiments, lovely and sweet.

There are times when it is more beneficial to eat a small amount of what one would really like, than having what is supposedly good for you. If you are not truly hungry, wait until you are, and then indulge in moderation. I have never subscribed to "its dinner time, you must eat". Eat when it is desired, not as a matter of course. Tonight at around 6.30 - 7.00 will have individual steak pies with suet crust pastry, crispy chips, cauliflower florets and good tasty gravy. To keep the stomach healthy, it needs to work hard, this is how it has developed over many years, anything that slides down easily without being chewed is avoided here for the greater part, this way the stomach can at times cope quite well with the occasional treat.

Hardly anything. Meat pie for dinner, half a helping of steak pudding and peas for tea. First time for years I have been below 13 stone....

Regime is four tiny meals to keep the system going. Cold porridge, remainder of the steal pudding and peas, Steak pudding carrots and spuds for tea and late night spoonfuls of cold porridge. Not because I'm hungry but to act as a bed for my Metformin pills and to keep the system moving. Seems to be working.....

Cold porridge at each end of the day. less than half a bowl of steak pudding carrots and spuds for dinner and a treat for tea, I poached a 200gm smoked salmon steak in milk with butter and pepper and had it with some spuds and carrots. This is still a minimum diet and I am losing weight but I feel satisfied and no hunger feelings so I shall carry on, it seems to be working. I'm pretty certain that my stomach isn't fully back to speed and so I'm not going to overload it.

Usual porridge, It's just like bland ice cream! One egg scrambled on two small pieces of toast for dinner. The second 200gm salmon steak poached in milk with potatoes and carrots for tea, about half a bowl full. Stomach is behaving itself and I'm feeling the benefit of weight reduction.....

I'm sending in the troops. Beef casserole made with lean stewing steak, new potatoes, carrot medallions, finely chopped onion, rich dark soy sauce, an oxo cube, red wine and bisto, and dumplings made with plain flour, shredded suet, and grated mature cheddar cheese.

Made a sausage casserole. I small slice of toast topped with it for dinner and one spud, chipped, with some for tea.

Thomo, I had to smile at your reference to "carrot medallions"...all carrots being circular when cut straight through...but I shall remember that term next time I want to sound posh ( "Carrot medallions tonight, my Lord").
Homemade Pizza tonight. Have cut some fresh herbs from my garden to sprinkle on top.

Sausage and beans with one small chipped potato for dinner, I added a few peas and had the same for tea. Empty fridge.... I shall go to the butcher's this morning.....

I was fine thanks Maz and Kath was so pleased to see me back on form. Nice....
Small meat pie and some peas for dinner. Tea was dead simple, a 59p cauliflower steamed 'til tender, some sea salt and whey butter melted over it. Lovely clean taste!
I had a nice piece of rump steak that many would have thought a bit past its sell by date. I put it on a bed of onions with olive oil, vinegar and the usual condiments in an enamel dish, covered it with foil and let it braise very slowly while I was watching TV. Such a beautiful smell! I've popped it into the fridge and will take a view later..... Best way I know to cook good steak!

Wish Cauliflowers were 59p here ( try 4x that price!)
Mind you, weather will cool off soon and the price will become more attractive.
Potatoes have been horrendous prices here for the last 18 months. ( and the ones you get are not always nice...they look ok but the flavour isn't there).
Lucky we live mainly on Salad at this time of year.
We have been out all day, and resorted to shoving some frozen fish in the oven and some frozen chips in the Air-Fryer. ( we do not often stoop to such meals). I did make a big bowl of fresh garden salad.
Have to say, it was actually ok, but if I don't have it again for 6 months I will live.
Fine as a "once off" meal. Couldn't face it often.
