Excellent stuff Ian, I trust we're going to see pictures of the finished job? That's if Sally is happy with boudoir pics being published

Slowly coming together, I had to put the fire surround back on the wall as it was taking up too much space in the front room.

Sorry but the peacocks are a bit overpowering for my taste. I think I shall die a Mongolia Man....

Did you mean to say Magnolia Man, Stanley?

Not really Cathy, I always call Magnolia Mongolia.... It was so popular at one point that it became a cliche but I have always liked it..... I like a plain wall covered with framed pictures.....
Look at that little face on the left......

My mother likes plain walls, she's the same age as you so it could be a generational thing. The hall, stairs and landing here are a plain green and covered in pictures.

Thanks Kev, no point in me repeating the exercise then.

There's been a bit of multitasking going on today, having to work for a living is slowly down the decorating but it does pay the bills. I managed to get a bit more paper on the wall.

Wallpapering all done, been out looking at flooring this afternoon. I reckon it'll be B&Q for a textured oak finish laminate.

The oak laminate flooring will extend into the hallway, the radiator needs replacing there and it will be most practical to do it before I fit the floor (not that I've bought it yet). Today I took a trip to B&Q and bought the new radiator, TRV and a lockshield with integrated drain cock (Screwfixhave sold out of the required radiator). I have enough pipe and fittings from previous radiator upgrades to complete the job so will make a start after food shopping (we've been away so the fridge is empty).

The replacement radiator in the hallway (the carpet is going), the old one was nearly twice that size with the same heat output. I've added 15mm chrome tails up to the valves using 15mm to 10mm inserts in the compression fittings that are under the floor (most of the system is 10mm microbore pipe). There wasn't too much pipework to move around, fortunately the orientation of the floor joists only required me to drill through for one of the pipes.

I've hung another mirror in the dining room, the light is reflected into all the corners now.

Can you still get hooks for the picture rail?

Not sure, I bought some when I was at Montrose Terrace for the original picture rails that were there but can't remember where from. It would have been in Barlick somewhere, possibly Budgetique on the town square.

A decision has been made by management to continue the 'panelling' into the hallway. The wallpaper, that was behind the radiator, wasn't in good shape and with the replacement being physically smaller it wasn't pretty. More MDF has been bought and works are underway.
