Same here David. I have enough on paying for essentials, never mid 'popular TV'. As the essentials get more expensive will others take the same view?

I wouldn't have it if I had to pay for it, saying that though subscribing to Netflix is cheaper than a TV licence.

I remember the Wireless Licence being 10/- a year.....

You are correct, Stanley.

Regarding the wedding licence. Sally and I are fortunate in that we got married before the total madness of stupidly expensive bashes became the fashion! From memory, for our church wedding I think we paid £12.00 for the organist and the same to have the bells rung. I had my pocket knife about me so that we were not held to ransom by the village kids who tied the church gates shut as is the tradition in Carleton and many other villages. We did tip them for our escape though. I think the reception at the Devonshire Arms was the most expensive bit with a buffet for about 80 persons. Having said that it was nothing compared to what some folk pay now. It was 45 years ago though, like I said, before the world went mad.

Bunty did us a turkey dinner and one drink at the Coronation. I think it was 7/6 a head.... Vera's wedding dress cost £23. I paid for it and got into trouble for asking for a discount.

I got a three piece grey pinstripe made to measure job from Hepworths in Skipton. Hepworths became the genus for Next in the early 80's.

Countryfile from Snowdonia covered the proliferation of micro plastics all over the area, and also light pollution preventing us seeing the stars. The expert light pollution researcher actually admitted that North Wales was in fact quite a good place from which to see stars.

Antiques Roadshow featured an Indian folk art picture (not antique), and some obviously fake Benin bronze bought by a tourist in a NIgerian street market. They've done their utmost to diversify the crowd and largely failed, but now seem to have given up, and are diversifying the objects.

I'll probably still watch them both though.

Its useful for those things on all antiques shows - the buying competition ones and the sell to dealers your own stuff ones. It helps show who can get caught - if not at the overpriced item in the boot fair (or auction - where descriptions go ... "believed to be (add age here , etc)" or market stall in Portobello Road , etc.

Watched the end of Chloe last night, could anyone who watched it please explain what actually went on, I expected more from the last episode, it’s just left me confused.

Nice programme on Channel Five now - behind the scenes of Last of the Summer Wine. I'm enjoying it.

I'm being stodgy and ploughing through the later episodes of Killing Eve. Not exactly a bundle of laughs! (But a very good and well made series.)

I was under the impression that all episodes of season 4 of Killing Eve were available but I found out last night this is not the case. I shall have to wait until the end of April to get my binge watch of the finale. (Patience Stanley!)

Brand new Time Time begins next weekend, three episodes over three evenings on YouTube. It looks good!

The last series is only available on the IPlayer, each episode released weekly so you can still continue to watch unless you want to do them all at once.
