Word has obviously got out that I am cooking the kid's favourite tonight ( funny how the jungle drums put the word about) and one of my stepsons has advised us he will be coming too. Half expect him to have other stepson in tow....
We don't see them for weeks, but crumb a bit of Chicken and they all seem to appear as if by magic.

I have to report I fell to pieces yesterday. Ate a pack of very expensive ginger biscuits with my morning cup of tea, comfort food I suppose. A very small ham butty for dinner and steak pudding and peas for tea. I shall be back on track today as my system recovers.....

Small pork pie and peas for dinner. Two small but well populated ham butties for tea... I have a loaf in the machine.

Finished Kath's loaf with beef stew for dinner. The two shear and onions I cooked down yesterday is very rich, probably due to the high proportion of kidneys. I took the gravy off last night and put it in the fridge, the fat has been lifted off the top and put in the fryer and overnight the gravy set as jelly so this morning I'm bringing it back to the boil and it's going to become sliceable stew for butties. I shall not starve today!

The stew turned out fine! Small stew butties for dinner and tea. Very tasty, I reckon it's the kidneys.....

Stew on a toasted butty for dinner. Stew and peas with chips for tea and cheese on toast later as I had been a bit too hard on myself with portion size. Some lovely mature cheddar that I had to cut the mould off. It seemed to have improved it!

Stew on one slice of toast for dinner. Same for tea using up the loaf I baked earlier in the week and two fried egg butties on small teacakes. Fruit for pudding....

They all look like heart attack material to me! Nowadays it's probably a take away..... Used to be fish and chips, pie and peas or crumpets and hard oat cakes.
Yesterday I had a small cod fillet on a teacake followed by half a small cheese and onion pie for dinner and tea, I reinforced the one at teatime with a fried egg because they were very small.

Two small pressed beef butties for dinner and steak pudding, chips and peas for tea. Not a big helping and a check weigh yesterday confirmed that I must have it about right, I'm still losing weight but very slowly.... It'll be interesting to see what effect this has had on my blood sugar next time they test me.....

Beef Curry cooked all afternoon in the slow cooker, while I spent 2 hours weeding our boundary fence where it joins common land (and is at such a slope that even a ride on mower cannot tame).
Stripped off in the laundry, jumped in the hot bubble bath that Febby had filled, then enjoyed a glass of wine whilst the Jasmne Rice cooked.
The Curry was YUM.
Just sitting here now working up the enthusiasm to do the dishes. May need a second glass of wine ( hey! I worked hard today!)
I am considering pulling the "I weeded and you didn't" card. :goodidea:

Ran a list of possible dinner choices past The Master this morning, and he said he fancied a Red Salmon and Broccoli Frittata. So that's what I made. Pic to follow...

I had an open butty on one slice of bread for dinner with cheese, beetroot and the remains of the ham. Tea was a small butty on one slice with haslet and one boiled egg..That article that Tiz posted about the fat man and his folds of skin is spurring me on!

I keep talking about half a butty. This is the size, this was dinner yesterday and the same for tea. It amazes me that it's enough to stop me feeling hungry. Apart, that is, for the munchies I get after tea which I have to fight off with varying degrees of success.....

Another half butty of stew and salad for dinner. I treated myself to peas and stew with two small chipped spuds for tea. Got the munchies later and had half a slice of toast with Marmite on..... I don't think that's the end of the world.

I finished the pressed two shear yesterday by having it on toast with sliced pickled onions for dinner and tea.
I know Maz, but it had to be finished and I am too much in love with losing weight at the moment! The benefits are so great. I am almost down to my old fighting weight of 168lbs....

Last of the bread toasted, cut into pobs and eaten with a fried black pudding and an egg for dinner. For tea I boiled some carrots and just had them on their own, I fancied the taste! (No, I don't think I am pregnant....)

Made Spicy Beef Noodles last night and had two bowls of it left over, which I put in the fridge thinking they may do for lunch today. Didn't fancy it at lunch, so have made a layered sliced Potato/Cheese/Spinach/Spicy Beef Noodle Bake for dinner. Some extra grated cheese on top. Will be a tummy filler with some Baby Peas.
Spinach was cut fresh from my "allotment" of course.

I know this will annoy my Australian friends but I steamed a cauliflower fresh from the greengrocer's for dinner. They sell them for 49p each and I didn't pick the largest. Lovely and fresh. For tea I had two small ham butties.....
