Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
Dinner was sausage mash and peas, tea was the same but with a meat pie instead of sausage.... Kath was a bit naughty and slipped a small trifle in my bag while I wasn't looking.... I enjoyed it!

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
Some would say boring but dead easy and very tasty. Roast ham butties X 2 for dinner and tea. Both with mustard and lettuce....

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
Corned beef butty with salad on a teacake for dinner. I got a 49p cauli and some carrots and had half of that for tea with peas and a tin of sardines. Healthy eating!

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
I had some corned beef and plenty of onions so I started the day by frying a big bunch of chopped onions and when they were nicely caramelised putting the corned beef in and making a very nice hash. I finished it off by stirring two eggs in to encourage it to set. I had the hash with salad on a teacake for dinner and for tea I had the remainder of the cauli and carrots with hash. Lovely.....

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
Having Roast Beef etc cooked by son in his kettle BBQ.
I've been past the kitchen several times and offered my services with prep, but have been waved away each time. He is a bit of an expert with his BBQ...has friends who compete their BBQ skills against each other...so I will leave him to it. Last I saw, he was arranging little sprigs of Rosemary on the Beef, and had his tray of carefully cut spuds/carrot/pumpkin ready to go.
My cookery lessons during his teenage years have paid off. He is one bachelor who eats well...
I am staying to keep an eye on his Labrador while he works,as she had major knee surgery on Monday. She came home with a narcotic pain patch in situ, and it has been a godsend. A slight set back today when she decided to climb on the garden edging (about six inches high) and she slipped and howled in agony. I was inside at the time, getting dressed, and ran out in my underwear to calm the poor love. She is hobbling a bit now and obviously not as comfortable as she had been, but I am taking her for a Vet Check tomorrow. I made her comfortable in her bed after the incident and massaged her pain patch a bit, hoping to squeeze a little relief for her. She slept for 6 hours after that!

Florence Nightshade at work... Everyone should have a friend like you Maz....
Boring day for some yesterday but it suited me. Hash and salad on a teacake for dinner and tea. Weight holding steady at 170lbs ragged off, a comfortable level and I'm not actively trying to go any lower, I'll see how I go on.

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
I arrived home about 2pm after being away 4 days. Hubby had missed me and dinner had been prepped and ready for cooking...which he insisted on doing...while he sat me in front of Corrie with a glass of wine. Felt a bit weird, but I did as I was told. Poor love burnt the dinner, but it didn't matter, as it was cooked with love.
was slightly concerned about the smoke in the air, but thoroughly enjoyed dinner. It beats his packet pasta ( mysteriously cooked with an egg whisk!) when needs have dictated him cooking previously.
Will throw the doors open tomorrow and air the house....

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
I like that Maz: "cooked with love". Definitely the most important ingredient!
Had two small teacakes with Coleslaw and pressed beef for dinner. I was in the middle of fettling my gate and wanted something quick. Kath had naughtily slipped a cream trifle in my bag as well as a small wholemeal loaf so I had that as well! Tea was an oddball.... I had been to the opticians and called in at the Cathedral of Choice on the way home and arrived in the house with Dark Ghana chocolate, digestive biscuits and oatcakes. I had white Stilton with mango and ginger on the biscuits, a whole packet of sweet biscuits and half of the dark chocolate for tea. Completely out of character and I don't know what got into me....
Just for a change I put a small piece of the dark chocolate in my coffee this morning.... Interesting....
I promise to be more conventional today!
Later, scrub the dark chocolate in the coffee! I think I am very susceptible to very strong chocolate and whilst I was not poorly I had a slight discomfort in my tummy.... I know when I'm beaten!

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
Boring but easy. Haslett and tomato butties for dinner and tea.....
Later I was making a hash to use up some onions, garlic, a black pudding and the rest of the Haslett so I thought I'd post this to make Maz's day complete. (There was about twice as much as this.....)

And I've just had a second look at the photo.
Oh Good Lord...my toes have curled over inside my slippers just imagining the smell...
There is enough garlic there to fell an Elephant.
Is this "scare Maz" day?!

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
No...I think most Garlic lovers would use one or two portions ( cloves) but that is an extreme amount...
I would say your neighbours would be putting pegs on their noses.

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
I first learned to love Garlic in industrial quantities when I was staying with my late friend Roger Perry who had terrible arthritis. He said a 24 clove garlic soup helped him so I joined in and found I liked it....
Had steak pudding, peas and chips for tea. I have a loaf in the oven now and so the hash will be used in butties.

The latest hash, my kind of grub!

It's the black pudding Moh.... Good stuff but if you mix it with anything else it looks terrible! (But tastes good....)
I had a small hash and salad butty for dinner and steak pudding, beans, hash and chips for tea.... (Only a small bowl....)

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
Eeeee...an acquired taste I would say, Stanley. (
and just look at all those cloves of Garlic)
I would politely decline...
Roast Chicken Dinner tonight, with all the trimmings and no garlic...served during the storm that swirled about outside, with high winds and rain lashing the windows...made it even nicer.

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
Two hash butties on small teacakes for dinner. I had the remainder of the hash with half a tin of beans left over from the day before with chips for tea. Nice, and cleared it up! I got the munchies later as it was a small helping and had a fried egg butty on teacake.....

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
The Polish shop on Church street was open as I came back from Butts Clinic so I popped in and bought a Saltisowka sausage... It's a dried 100% pork sausage and I have never met it before.... I liked it!
Got a Cauli and carrots and had that for dunner with some sliced Saltisowka . Same for tea and I have a helping left in the fridge.
