It' all in your mind Maz, calm down.

Today I shall mainly be cycling over to ILP Clarion House for the Friends of Clarion gathering and barbecue. First look at the new roof on the building too. Culmination of over 10 years of fund raising and staged refurbishment to our 1912 building. Killing two birds with one stone, missing the group training ride for the coast to coast but should be able to get a few hills in getting too and from the Clarion.

Maz, Bill and Ben are our two tower planters which grace the Town Square during the summer. In Autumn, we move them to the pedestrian area on Fernlea Avenue near the toilets. I've been struggling to get the large telehandler to come and move them back onto the square, because of silaging. Forgot to take my camera out first thing, so no pic of us moving them; here they are later in the day.

Good to see them back. What are the barriers and holes in the ground for?

Kev, they've taken Jacks favourite tethering post away.
Biggest task is getting a second bottle of essential eye drops from the chemists. The hospital only give you one of the two they know you need for the full four week course. Saving money on their budget I suppose....

All the bollards on the Albert Road side of the Town Square have been removed to make the space more flexible for activities like the Beach and Market, and generally reduce street clutter. We need to provide some hooks for tethering Jack and other dogs.

Ah! That's it, both me and P stood there yesterday, scratching our heads, thinking "were there bollards there?"

Keeping up with the eye drops and being careful not to do anything silly! Improving daily, it would be a pity to spoil it!

Doing the normal everyday jobs needed to keep my life in order. It's amazing how much time it takes, getting prescriptions filled, getting boots back from the cobbler, getting milk from the supermarket, looking after Jack and preparing food. I sometimes wonder how I ever had time to go to work!

The big day has finally come and today is MOVING DAY!
At present I am trapped in the kitchen, keeping out of the way of the men with big boots and Popeye arms...the moving men. Febby has the easy job of going on ahead and opening up the new house. I get the less glamorous job of cleaning this end, after the house is empty.
A heavy rain spell is hampering efforts just now...hope it blows over fairly smartly.

Then it's just the 2 hour drive "down South".
It's going to be an exhausting day...

I'd like to think I'll be mainly working on bloom related matters - putting together the portfolio etc - but the day is dominated by a half-day session at the dental hospital in Manchester this morning. (I have faced down my dental demons to such an extent and become so relaxed about the treatment that I was accused of falling asleep in the chair at a recent visit; I'll probably feel like doing that today.)

Oh me knees...me knees! They are killing me! Can't walk another step or deal with another cardboard box today...
We have just opened a bottle of wine too, Wendy. Cheers!
Actually, today hasn't been that bad. I've had worse days, but it's true my knees are screaming at me, and I can do no more today. Took them 4 hours to load the truck...then the two hour drive...then just over 2 hours to unload the truck. The men could only work if regularly administered sweet, strong coffee - so they cleared me out of sugar - I'll have to have morning coffee without now. The young lad assisting went all faint by late afternoon and we had to revive him with chocolate, followed by crisps, muesli bars and more sweet coffee! ( we were beginning to panic that we would have to unpack more boxes to find food for him).
Liz...we are now down on the Southern Fleurieu Peninsular.

Have been on that many a time. Takes folk all the way out to Granite Island and back, though it is just as lovely to walk it. Always a stiff sea breeze blowing! There are fairy penguins on the Island. it is a lovely afternoon adventure to walk the entire island, looking for them. Kids love the place, and it wears them out, scrambling over the rocks.
There is a steam "Cockle Train" along the coast too...

Meanwhile, I remain deep in cardboard box land.
Managed to find some clean clothes this morning!

Moving slowly though...slipped in the cast iron roll-topped bath this morning and winded myself. A few bruised ribs, but otherwise ok. Won't do that again!
( I've noticed that having sore ribs makes me forget about my sore knees)

Take it easy woman! Apart from bereavement and divorce, flitting is the next most stressful life experience. You will be more accident prone for a few days.

Really? Will I be more accident prone for a few days? In that case, I've had mine, so I am now safe.
Hubby heard me fall...and called through the door to see if I was ok. He asked if I was " doing a Whitney Houston" ( drowning in the bath). I had already let the water out though and was just attempting to climb out.
