Will do Wendy. Perhaps an art one. Happy to have one at my house sometime when the repairs are done.

Reading and editing gets harder as the right eye gets stronger and fights with the left giving me double vision.... Am spending a lot of time just staring into space and playing Solitaire on the FM3!

Love the sunflowers ( and the gardener is rather good looking too  )

Ancestry today. Trying to get the filing done, but I find handling bits of paper with notes scribbled on leads me in all kinds of directions, especially if I have scribbled "keep me...I am important" on it. Ha! I love doing the research but need big blocks of time to link everything up...find it terribly difficult if I keep getting interrupted. Horrible day outside today with wind howling and rain beating down, so the day went quickly because I lost all track of time. I am slightly neater at the end of it. All in all, a pleasant day.

Nothing as exciting here Maz. I'm in limbo at the moment, waiting to see the eye surgeon on the 15th of August to get the all clear so I can get a pair of glasses to correct the double vision which gets worse as my right eye gets stronger.... No complaints about the job he did but it's a bit of a bugger at the moment!

Had our hair cut today by a young English girl resident in France who is trying to establish a business here. I needed a hair cut before we come back to Oxford next Friday for a wedding. We actually come back to England on Tuesday and will combine the wedding trip with a check on the house drying out, a trip to Oxford, another to Petworth House, and a trip to the Normandy beaches.

A lot of rain today, in fact we have no view because of the mist and clouds.

Suspect 'managing people' not in my skill set!

The Beach set up was mainly done by a good team of self motivated volunteers and my role was more directing operations than being hands on all the time; to such an extent, that I submitted an application for Barnoldswick to be recognised as The Great British High Street of 2014. Today, main job is to compile a montage of supporting images for the application.

Thanks everyone, it being Sunday morning we went for a drive, but the cottage on the Isle of Wight and the grandchildren (Vera, Chuck & Dave) are still just a dream.
Hoping for the bottle of wine though.

I am reminded of this quotation: 'Sir, re. your dental enquiry. The teeth in the top are fine but the ones in my bottom hurt terribly' A small prize for anyone who can identify where it comes from.....
