I watched the last episode of Shetland and found it easier to understand than Capture! Tosh got her hug and Jimmy got his nurse. I do like happy endings!

SAS Rogue Heroes

BBC1 weekly and all six episode available on demand.

Based on the book of the same name by Ben MacIntyre. It tells the story of the formation and activities of the SAS during WWII

Violent in the action scenes and bad language throughout but as the introduction to each episode says:

"Those event which seem most unbelievable.....

are mostly true"

A very good production in my view.

I''ve tried to adjust - but there's somethng not quite right about snooker players with short sleeves.

I doubt Joe Davis would have approved.

Saw your John Lewis Christmas advert today.
A happy ending, very ‘in the spirit’.

Watched the penultimate The Pact last night, it could finish in any number of directions, can’t wait to watch the last one tonight, just hope it doesn’t disappoint.

Was there 2 seasons of this series? I'm sure I watched at least season 1.

If there was we didn’t see it. It looks like there was, it was about the aftermath of a group of friends after the unexplained death of their boss. Might catch up on that now, series 2 was so good.

I have just finished watching the (10 episodes) of Band of Brothers. Saw it first time round and I have it on the DVD boxed set.

101st Airborne from D-Day to the cessation of hostilities. Damian Lewis as Dick Winters. Carentan, Brécourt Manor, Market Garden (Eindhoven), Arnhem para escape, Bastogne, Foy and the Eagles Nest.

Hard to believe that the HBO mini series was made over 20 years ago.

I watched the Brazilian GP last night on catch-up. I have never made a secret of the fact I dislike Verstappen and in this race he demonstrated why.... He knew there was a chance of Lewis Hamilton getting a good result and deliberately tried to take him out but came off worst and never managed to get anywhere near the lead. Hamilton said on the radio that it wasn't a 'racing incident'. Then, later in the race when Verstappen was asked by his team to let his team mate past to help his championship points he refused.
When Red Bull gave Verstappen a long contract early in the year I said they might regret it....
Nice to see George and Lewis take a one two and Verstappen to finish nowhere.....

I thought you might..... :biggrin2:
I think he's a nasty piece of work, I still haven't forgotten him driving over the top of Hamilton's car last year and driving on without knowing if there was an injury....

I finished the series of "The Pacific" another HBO series which I also have as a boxed set of DVD's. The drama tells of the experiences of three featured protagonist from the US 1st Marine Corps from Guadalcanal to Okinawa and all the islands in-between. Bob Leckie, Eugene Sledge, John Basilone, who won the Congressional Medal of Honour for his actions on Guadalcanal and was sent home to sell War Bonds, he stuck at that role for about a year but then volunteered to go back to active duty and was killed during the invasion of Iwo Jima. Bob Leckie and Eugene Sledge wrote books on their experiences, the miniseries is based on their accounts.

The Pacific (miniseries)
