There's a cure for it Maz. That dose of Gastric flu I had in April was the start of my splendid decline to my present 12 stones. I have a yen to get another 7lbs off..... But I'm not pushing anything, just being careful not to be greedy.

:geek: but...but...it could just be the exaggerated lumbar support, Stanley. It pushes in at the back and one's stomach bones have nowhere else to go!

Had a change of mind yesterday and did duck breasts in plum sauce with roast potatoes & corn. Today is roast shoulder of lamb with new & roast potatoes, carrots, brussels & mint gravy.

We went out for Sunday lunch...very unusual for us but very enjoyable. We met up with my brother & sister in law who live in York at a place called North Rigton which is roughly halfway between here and York. I had roast beef, Yorkshire pudding and all the trimmings followed by a very, very wicked creme brulee with shortbread biscuits. I may not eat again for a day or two

Sounds very wicked...

Given our "blast furnace" weather conditions, it will be cold Chicken Salad tonight. Have made a small potato salad and boiled a couple of eggs...will cook the chicken shortly then slice it when cold.

Occasional indulgence is good for the soul Wendy! Maz... winter warming food here!
I had a small bowl of mutton stew for dinner with a small butty of the last of the haslet on an oven bottom bun. Same for tea but with a smaller helping of the stew and an oven bottom with fried tomato and egg.

I have no doubt she will be coming in to tell us exactly what it was.
I put some sausage in a shallow dish with the remains of Wendy's tomatoes, covered them with foil and cooked slowly on the stove all morning, Two small sausage and tomato butties on oven bottom for dinner. I poured the gravy off the sausage into the last of the mutton stew and had that for tea. The remaining four sausage are in the fridge. Put two mutton shanks and some neck end into cider in the CI stewpot, added three small onions and three apples that were not ripe and seasoned. It has been on a slow stove all night.

'Twas a cold Chicken Salad! ( :geek: what is to explain?)
Similar looking tea tonight but instead of Chicken, I shall throw some tiny Spicy Beef Meatballs through and possibly some cold Pasta.

I'd like to know how you cut those eggs so beautifully please.

Our dinner is pork chops on the bbq with a simple green salad.

Liz, I have sent Stanley a very crude drawing, and I am sure he will kindly post it for me.
( I've been cutting eggs this way "for donkey's years" and thought everyone did)
Egg needs to be hard boiled, cooled and peeled.
I use a thin steak knife to cut mine, as it is sharp right to the point...basically you jab the knife in at a continuous zig zag around the waist of the egg ( in and out, in and out, alternating the tilt of the knife). Aim to take it deep enough it goes to the centre of the egg with each jab.
Work your way round the egg and don't be too concerned if your zig zag doesn't end neatly.
The two halves will seperate easily.

Stanley will be back any moment, with my crude pic. :laugh5:

Impressive diagram Maz! Why does Stanley have to post your photos? Is it because you use an ipad?

Yes Wendy. Blowed if I can find a way to do it on the iPad.
( it has options for posting to email/Facebook/Cloud/etc, but not for posting to other websites)

I am a firm believer that Apple products are sold more on their name than actual functionality. I assume you are sending Stanley a jpg file? If that is the case and your I whatever can produce a jpg you should be able to add it to the gallery or directly into a post as an attachment. If not a jpg what is the image file format?

I think Maz has worked out the easiest way to post on the forum....

The result of today's slow cooking after deboning and adding carrots and parsnips. Salt, pepper and oatmeal with some peas just added ready for tea.....

I've posted from my iPad to the forum but you need to start in OneGuy and then choose the photo the way Ian says. It's not as easy as it is to post to other applications via the share button.

I fried some tomato till it was well done and had it on two oven bottoms with the last 4 sausages. For tea I had the Mutton stew, needs a touch of adjustment to the seasoning but I'll do that when it's had its second slow cook today. It's lovely, mutton can be tough if not treated right, the meat is lovely and tender and moist.... I love slow cooking!

I think my picture posting probs probably relate to my privacy settings, Panny.
I turn any button OFF that wants access to the Internet, because it was draining my pre-paid Internet and some programs or "apps" have no business constantly refreshing my location...photos is one of them...photo resizing is another. ( why does cropping a photo need to know where I am????)
I can turn certain things on and off as I need them of course, and likely if I was lost in the desert I would be turning everything on!
I tend to ditch "apps" that drain my juice. They are just a scam.
