Catching up with the site after it went AWOL yesterday. Pluggy rescued it.
Usual Friday shopping and there is a video on steam engine building I want to watch.

Waiting for a nice young man to come and measure for some security screen doors ( late afternoon).
I do miss throwing the front door open every morning and letting the air in. Hope to be able to do that again soon.

Off to a craft group.we are crocheting poppies for a wreath at the war memorial.

The decorator has nearly finished and our house is nearly back to normal, just carpets to be ordered and fitted and the laminate flooring and shelving to be done. It's only taken two weeks and perhaps a day next week. Now I can clean ! The books can't go back in the bookcases in the bedroom till the carpets are fitted and that will be another couple of weeks . The rest of the house looks shabby now!

Weather perfect, so off for another long walk shortly, though we shall do the beach today I think. Lots of interesting people in town this weekend, so might do a spot of people watching...

I enjoyed watching an old bloke in Texas making a little engine and falling into the same mistakes I make! Too much video watching so I shall write an articles today and record F1 quali for watching later.

As you'll see if you look at shed matters, I went in the shed yesterday and spent more time in there than in the last two years put together! No great problems. It looks as though watching the machining videos has done the trick!
F1 today of course but it's not on 'til 17:00 so it won't interfere with other stuff. Torn between writing and shed. I think writing will win....

Packed some water, muesli bars and the camera into a lightweight back pack and did a stunning cliff top walk around two bays of the coast, then returned over the lower rocks. Had a fabulous time.

Have also booked a steam train journey ( day long/lunch etc) for Febby's birthday. Not cheap, but think it will be a nice day out with great scenery. It only runs twice a year...

If it's anything like the Fellsman you will love it.....

Waiting for a reply from BET about reprinting some articles. They don't work as fast as me! Expecting my new dial gauge in the post and looking for a tipped boring bar that is lurking amongst my treasures somewhere!

Meeting two university friends for lunch. We meet up once a year in Delph which is equidistant from us all. Work should finish on the house today. Carpets are being fitted on Thursday. Dads house has a sold sign on it but I am not getting excited about it yet!

You do right not to get carried away with the sale Sue. You'll know it's sold when the money is in your hand! Very stressful exercise, as big a life event as the bereavement if you don't keep your head on straight.
Still waiting for a reply from BET. Dial gauge should be here today. Never got round to the search for the boring bar, too many household tasks to do and then I got trapped watching a good fitter repairing and old Manus vacuum pump. Off the same system I used when I learned how to machine milk cows all those years ago... Pure nostalgia! Funny what turns people on isn't it.

There is a Manus pump in the sale at Silverwoods in Clitheroe today, I was checking the catalogue for a couple of bits of old furniture I have entered for the sale and that name jumped out at me!

They made good tackle Wendy, very well built.

Getting into the shed again. Reading is so hard that for the time being I'm ditching any serious reading. It's a pain but never mind, onward and upwards!

Art this morning, writing this afternoon pilates tonight, lunch out, and new carpets being fitted. The house will then be back to normal three and a half months after the water leak and internal flooding. Sigh of relief.

Charlotte moves out tomorrow to her house share in Leeds ready to take up her new job in textile design on Monday. This means I will have part of a room to make into a studio and hopefully get on with some painting. Nolic

Sue, glad you are about to be able to relax! Comrade, another ship launched on the sea of life. Keep a sofa bed in the studio for reclining nudes and visiting daughters!
Butchers and shopping today. Ed Lee from Times Leader wants to publish my stuff on Stan the Man in the whole range of the Leader series as a full page article so I shall be doing a re-write. No shed!

Thought that might be the article you were pitching Stanley; Stanislaw deserves the attention.

The house looks lovely, well the new bits do! Just got to hang pictures and we have decided to have some new bedroom furniture in our bedroom. It should arrive next week. Then we will redecorate that room. It's amazing how much the new carpet has improved the room.
