Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
No joy? It's a complete set of watchmaker's drills, ex army and I can't even guess what they would cost today. I got them for a song and have never used them but the point is that they are there if needed! There are ten drills in each container....

A bit too robust for Ikea - nice idea though.

A clue is that the mystery object has become detached from its assembly.
Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
I've got it! It's the hilt off King Arthur's sword, Excalibur! If you found it in Barlick this could be the chance for a Lottery grant to build a big museum in the town dedicated to Arthur.

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
Bob on Stanley.

You can see the plates in use on the new demountable bollards put up outside Chubby's Chippy.
However, when the bollards were removed for deliveries, the plates didn't lay flat. Trucks passing over them broke the weld to the hinge on the socket. The bollards themselves have been installed in the wrong location, allowing vans etc to bypass them at either side.
The contractors are now due to return and reinstall them in the right place with plates sitting flat when not locked...
They'll also be installing rings on the stone walls of the front planters to hitch dogs (or horses) to.

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
Rams horn? But is it complete or a longitudinal section I wonder? Do you keep your gunpowder in it?

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
Part of your ivory collection that you first showed in June. From a wild pig. Actually it was quite tame until it had its teeth pulled out.
Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
Now I think of it, ram's horn is all crinkly so I was wrong on that count. Walrus tusk? Sabre-toothed tiger?

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
Not a lot of point letting this one linger on because I don't know what it is. P has a good memory and is right, it was with the old ivory offcuts and my best guess it is a tooth from a large carnivore like a lion or tiger. Solid and a good weight. I wouldn't like it to be stuck into me!
Try this one...
