The new series of Canal Boat Diaries begins at 7.30pm tonight. I hope fame and fortune hasn't gone to Robbie's head!
Awww missed that, I do like those.
It was a good watch as usual Gloria. Robbie is back living on his boat after a split with his partner. He is travelling from Sheffield to Leicester and last night's highlight was the sliding railway bridge at Keadby in Lincolnshire.

I watched the last session of the Crucible snooker even though I knew the result. Well worth it. Mark Selby has nothing to be ashamed for, watching him grind Brecel down to 16-15 was the epitome of hard match play snooker.

Watched the canal boat diaries, very easy viewing, and then watched The Big Steam Adventure on ch5, not sure about that, it’s a bit like the John Sergeant Show, he never shuts up.

Tried to reinstate all4 on my TV but despite doing everything and getting a message from All4 that it was sorted I still haven't got it. I gave up and resolved to get a Firestick as recommended by Kev.

Later.... I have been looking at Firestick and have seen that it isn't compatible with Ubuntu. Does this apply if you are using it on an existing Samsung Smart TV?
Any information gratefully accepted.

It's a 'standalone' device, it just plugs into an HDMI port on a TV and a power supply. On screen prompts will ask you to connect it to wifi.

It's all fairly straightforward, plug it in and, if you ticked the 'link to my Amazon account' box when you bought it it'll already be logged in. If not you just log in, accept the terms and conditions and away you go. Any apps not already pre installed you add them from the Amazon app store.
If you're really brave you could press the blue button and say 'Alexa, install ?????' and it should do if for you but I'm not insisting you do

I don't have any devices that would listen to it.
I have installed the device, registered it and got it going but I still don't know how to control it properly. I have found out that it's a different source and I can change that but beyond that I am a bit overwhelmed. Onwards and upwards!

Other than the Firestick itself, neither do I. Pressing the blue button and speaking to the remote is all it needs. Try saying 'open ITVX' and see what happens.

Just watched the Coronation Concert. We were only going to watch it until Malpractice at 9pm, but we stuck with it. Some we didn’t know, some were not good, but the rest was really good.

That's interesting Kev. It's how I read the instructions but assumed it couldn't be right. I shall try it. I am still playing with it.
No need for it as it happened ;last night, I watched 'From Russia with Love' again. sexist and definitely not woke but good entertainment.

Yes Alexa button works.
I have been playing with Firestick for an hour. Haven't managed to open one programme. Have given up, totally pissed off.

I've just been watching a program called 'Canals: The making of a Nation', a complete series of six episodes, and narrated by Liz McIvor. Originally produced by the BBC, it can now be watched on the 'Yesterday' channel.
I have Sky TV and found it by pressing the blue microphone button on my TV remote and saying 'Canals'
I found the series very fascinating and rewarding.
A further search found this is also available on iPlayer too.
