If you've been following Shed Matters you will know I have solved my engine problem. Now all I have to do is carry it back into the front room.... You wouldn't believe how heavy it is!

Don't hurt yourself. Ask for help.

Liz, problem is that it is a one man lift and I wouldn't trust anyone else. Don't worry, I'm a tough little bugger and well used to doing things like this. I shall take care and report back.....

Can't have you worrying about me so I went and shifted it. I made sure I had a clear path and got a good leather belt which I threaded through the trunk slides so I could take the weight on my neck and shoulders by popping my head through the loop. No danger, very stable and just heavy! It's back in its place now and can stay there! So enjoy the day without worrying about silly old farts.....

Cinema at the Rainhall Centre for me later in the day. Before that, we're beginning planting at the Memorial Gardens with a team of volunteers from the high school.

Febby sporting a half a dozen sticking plasters....yes folks...he has engaged in a D.I.Y weekend about the house...and you have to give him 10 out of 10 for effort.
But oh the blood that has been spilt in the quest!
( Maz can never quite believe it :laugh5: )

Meanwhile, I have been gardening, sweeping, spider hunting, surface spraying, and relocating potted plants ( in between racing backward and forward with the first aid box)
Think we both deserve a nice glass of Red at sundown...

Lovely day yesterday. Mick brought me two small but very bright LED lights for spot lighting on the lathe and the work bench. Brilliant! Just what I needed and has perhaps stopped me thinking about spending a fortune on an electrician! I have been using an LED torch for spot lighting....

A day of rest NOT! It has been a busy weekend. We went to coventry on Saturday leaving ROCHDALE at 6.30 am. We met up with Julia , Ed and family and caught the 10.30 train to London, then on to the tube to the Tower of London. By 12.30 we munching food in a restaurant across the road from the tower. Then it was a trip to see the poppies, the Crown Jewels and the Beefeaters. We were back to Coventry by 5.45 pm with a very tired 5 year old and a not as tired 3 year old, who walked all the time. What excitement there was, a trip on a train, on the underground, to London, and with Grandma and grandpa. Yesterday was playing, reading, painting, swimming, all again with grandma and grandpa who came home exhausted by 6.30 pm. Back here poor Erin has been very poorly with bronchiolitis. In the last 4 days she has been rushed to hospital twice and has two visits a day by the children's community nurse. Excellent support from the NHS. Hopefully she is on the mend now.

I seem to have a cold coming on or her virus!

Tomorrow we are going to THREE WINE MEN at Old Trafford. We are meeting Jane, (sister and wine expert). It should be fun. Of course getting there can't involve driving, so I googled the options. I found a great site that gave me minute by minute accounts of routes.
We have several options to arrive tomorrow by 11.00. One arrives just after, others arrive at 10.30. All free for us being on bus passes. Bus to ROCHDALE, walk to station , train to victoria then tram. Or bus to Rochdale then tram direct. First is about 30 minutes quicker. It will take us over 4 hours to walk, but the quickest way is to cycle but we aren't keen let alone the fact that we only have one bike here and it is buried at the back of the shed. Cycling back could be a problem with me on the handle bars.
So we plan to be there between 10.30 and a little after 11.00

Does the tram system reach Rochdale now?
I may not get into the shed today. It's the timer of year when I have to make sure I have all the editions until the middle of January covered and they tell me they'd like an article every week over Xmas. Nice to be desirable but..... It means I have three articles to write.....
