I watched the first episode and will go back to it...... It doesn't look to me like it's going to have a HAPPY ENDING.....

It’s very good Stanley, well worth watching. Ben Field thought he was invincible.

I watched it and yes, it was satisfying to see that the detectives got him in the end.
I went looking for evidence of the real Ben Fields and the only interesting thing I found was this example of how standards are falling in some areas of journalism. Evidently a shortage of competent editors...
BBC's latest drama, The Sixth Commendamnt

One of the benefits of surfing the channels until somethng comes along that is worth watching paid dividends tonight. BBC 4 are showing the whole of Jacob Bronowski's "The Ascent of Man". Episode two tonight - from nomads to villagers. No publicity at all for it - that I've heard anyway.

Memorably brutal is - What happens to the old of the Persian Bakhtyari tribe when they are unable to swim the rivers on their journey to summer pastures with the herd.? Nothing ! They are left behind to die, which they accept as inevitable.

There is remarkable film of the Buzkashi game from Afghanistan, with hundreds of Mongol horsemen.

It was made just fifty years ago. I'd guess there has been more change to the lives of both groups in that fifty years than in the previous five hundred. (five thousand?)

PS :- I renewed my TV licence last week - I feel a bit better about it after that.

"I'm all right Jack" is on Talking Pictures (again). Brilliant casting - Peter Sellers Irene Handl etc.

I do enjoy it - and understand the plot, and every word of the script - which helps a lot. :laugh5:

"All them corn fields. . . .

Mob chants "We want Stanley" (Windrush)

That surname was a subtlety that had escaped me until now. Film was made in 1959.

I reached the end of Killing Eve last night. The only survivors were Eve and Caroline out of the originals. I was offered a bonus entitled 'Obsessed by Killing Eve?' but declined it, I am not obsessed! Some things are better left unexplained......

Actually Bad TV.

I read this - Hollyoaks drama. I've been out all day but I read this, and out of curiosity watched it tonight.

It is without any doubt the worst soap / programme I've ever seen - and I remember Triangle. I realise that I am far from the target audience - but I recommend / challenge anyone to watch a full episode. It's so bad it's worth watching.

David, you won the bet.... I tried an episode of Hollyoaks and gave up before it ended. How can professionals put something as bad as that on air? A confused and asinine plot that seemed to revolve around a putative eviction and dialogue that was so vapid as to be unintelligible. I shall not be repeating the experience!

(The really frightening thing is that some people will be watching it!)
(Oh, I forgot to mention it but the set designers must have very confused minds!)
