I'll bet on salad Maz.... I had small sausage butty plus small bowl of veggie stew for dinner and tea. In between I slow cooked an oxtail and two mutton chops. Harvested the fat and de-boned last night and popped a bag of frozen peas in. I shall treat myself to dumplings in it today, no other veg, I eat more than five a day just with my apples!

I have a beef chili bubbling away in the slow cooker, it should be nice and hot as I have used one of Sally's dried chilies (little red ones) that she grew last year. Baked potato and a bit of cheese will set it off, might have rice though, depends what veggie Sally is making.

I had some coleslaw left to I put a drop of Lea and Perrins in and a tin of mackerel fillets in tomato sauce and mashed it up. I had three small butties on thin bread for dinner with the filling. During the day I had a blade of mutton on onions and in cider cooking slowly on the stove. At dinnertime I drained the gravy off and put it in the fridge and deboned and de-fatted the meat. By teatime the fat had solidified on the gravy and was lifted off, 3/4 of a kilogramme of frozen peas popped in and back on the stove to come to the boil again ready for tea. Lovely stuff, all protein, the only carbs were the three bread soldiers I used to soak up gravy and to finish the small white loaf off.

Mutton and peas for dinner with chips made with sweet potato. I boiled carrots and steamed cauliflower and for tea had a bowlful with some of the mutton and peas on for a sauce. Finished off with a very small helping of live whole milk yoghurt on the principle that the more varied your diet the better!

Paella here tonight. We had a beautiful paella on Sunday at my daughter-in-law's 40th birthday party. She had professionals in to cater and they had the biggest paella pan I've ever seen; over a metre across.

There's was somewhat better than mine so I'm trying to get the spices right tonight. I'm trying a bit more smokey paprika and an extra chile. Any other suggestions anyone?
