Raided the freezer for my dinner and what will be my tea today. Pork, bean and potato stew from a batch made before Christmas for my dinner. Tea will be meatballs in a tomato and garlic sauce, I'll do a bit of tagliatelle pasta to go with that. Scope for a nice walk this afternoon while the sun shines

I had some bacon that needed eating ion the fridge so I popped it in a cast iron casserole with the usual suspects and a tin of chopped tomatoes. Two small oven bottoms with the bacon and tomato on for dinner. Same for tea but with a fresh Wendy egg on each as well. Still hungry so I chipped a sweet potato and had the remainder of the bacon and tomato sauce on. Empty fridge and clean pans ready for butcher's day today!

Macaroni Cheese...cooked in the tin tent. ( oh the dizzy heights of fine dining...but after a long bike ride in a bracing wind it went down a treat...with a nice glass of Red.)
I am in bed now and it's only 9pm.
Old ( black and white!) movie on TV has Febby well engrossed, so I'm off to sleep...

Jeez...I don't believe it. We must be in some kind of time warp. He is watching "The Cisco Kid" now...

Small pressed beef and coleslaw butties for dinner and tea. While I was watching TV last night I had braised steak on a bed of onions with chopped tomato and the usual suspects cooking slowly on the stove. I chucked a bunch of sprouts in and they have slowly cooked in the gravy. I have some other veggies so am looking good for today!

Still holidaying in the tin tent. Last night I made pizza in the camp kitchen, which we thoroughly enjoyed.
Tonight Febby has requested sausages, but he picked up some gourmet smoked sausages, and I am not a fan of any foods that are smoked. So sausages for him, and I will survive on barbequed potato slices and onions with a bit of salad. I packed a small tin of Beetroot, so won't starve.
It must be Chicken Curry tomorrow night because that is all that is left in our little caravan freezer...

I enjoy the occasional Pizza Maz.... Nice to know Dave is taking an interest in his food, a little of what you fancy does you good.
I had beef stew and veggies X 2 for dinner and tea. I OD'd on grapes for pudding..... Expensive but a nice treat.

Stir fry veggies for us last night with tuna steaks. I bought a small tool for cutting "julienne"strips, like a potato peeler with crocodile teeth, and made noodles from a courgette.
Colin's turn to cook tonight, we are having sausages and....if they work out OK...celeriac chips. I will report back.

Sally has just got a spiralizer as they are called, not a whiz bang one like some of the table mounted lathe type jobs. No winding handles or anything like that. It's a bit like a plastic diabalo with two different sized cutters, one on each sloping side. You push and rotate the veg with a spiked end piece for grip and it produces long spirals of whatever you are feeding in. Makes good stuff for stir frying.

I was looking at different spiralizers in the shop, but decided to try the simplest version first. I wasn't expecting it to work as well as it did.....no injuries either!

You lot are so adventurous! I limit myself to old fashioned technology, a sharp knife.
Beef stew X 2 yesterday for dinner and tea. The last helping was small so I had one of Wendy's pullet eggs on the last of the white cob that Kath gave me on Friday. I've just put a loaf in the machine, I fancy some of my own bread, cutting back on carbs is good stuff but my system is crying out for some real bread.....
I'm soaking some peas as well. Nearly finished the big bag I got in 2011..... Must think about getting another one!

The celeriac chips were a bit soggy but very tasty. They need to be cut into wedges not chips....lessons learnt for the next attempt!

Must forage for some food today. Still in the tin tent, and think we only have one onion, a few cheese slices and two two potatoes on board, plus enough milk to make a few cups of tea.
Not panicking. So long as we can make a cup of tea we shall last until we get to shops.
I am glad I packed a second lot of towels....they don't half go manky after a few days on the road. I am missing my bath in the mornings, but everywhere we have been has hot showers so that has been a bonus.
Stanley, any word yet about birthday celebrations? Or are the family still keeping you in the dark!?

Not a word...... "I don't like it Jim, it's too quiet...."
Mushy peas were ready by dinnertime and were wonderful, you can't beat them when made from dried marrowfat peas. Cooked six sausage in tomatoes and a steak pudding. Dinner was steak pudding, the last of the coleslaw, sweet potato chips and mushy peas.... lovely! Tea was a sausage and tomato butty with the last of the Wendy eggs.
