Going to the optician at 9AM to see whether I am at the stage where the implant in my left eye can be laser cleaned... It's like peering through frosted glass at the moment!

Far less than some Sue but yes, it's frustrating when your vision has a gap in it. Funny thing is that you develop strategies to overcome it like looking away from what you are focussing on and grabbing the image that pops up in your peripheral vision which is excellent in the right eye. I'm so grateful that they did such a good job on the right eye, I could have been totally blind.... If you look at Shed Matters you'll see how, with care and magnifying glasses, I can turn out work that is actually better than anything I have done previously. So, things could be a lot worse and there is now the prospect of a significant improvement. Onward and upwards and into the shed today to do some very small bits!

Resting a badly strained ankle. Yes, just as my broken wrist has returned to normal I slipped outside again yesterday afternoon and twisted my ankle quite badly...I even heard an ominous click! It's sore, bruised and swollen but I can just about put weight on it so hopefully there is nothing broken. I spent a restless night worrying how we would manage if I had to spend the next eight weeks in plaster! It's slightly better this morning so I won't clog up A&E.

You need a button like there is on the windows in the ICU. One push and it goes either clear or frosted.

Thanks all. There was someone in the restaurant having a birthday, he shared his cake all round. At the age of 38 I to,d him I was old enough to be his mother, he was most complimentary . I felt very good !

Happy birthday Sue!
Wendy, you've got to cut back on the booze! Get Colin to spend time rubbing it, wonderful what rubbing can do for a bad ankle. Even if there is a tiny fracture in something it'll heal just as fast without A&E! If you could see me mincing about when it's slippy you'd die laughing.....
Mo comes this morning to bring my new lamp for the shed and help me to put it up.... More improvements!

I told Mo not to come if he wasn't comfortable with the state of the roads. He's got the fitting but sensibly decided to leave coming over until the roads were better.
I shall be turning tapers today.... Hopefully I have got it right!

Surprisingly here in Langdale it has hardly snowed , not icy and the roads are all clear. Home today.

Be careful as you get closer to home. The roads are bad where they haven't been treated....

It was bad in Ambleside its was snowing on ice when we left, then nothing much from Windermere to Blackburn. The worst place is our own road with several inches of snow.

Glad you got back OK. Today I shall be keeping warm and seeing my new GP at 9AM to get him to refer me to hospital for laser window cleaning. Might get time to finish my cocks in the shed!

Decisions have been made by the management.... I am going to go ahead with using the new cylinder as a base for a new horizontal engine designed by the General Manager.....

I'm designing my engine in my head and today I might write some articles for the BET to build the stockpile. I have a few ideas in my head.....

My head is full of articles and engines! I shall rattle some more articles off today. Always nice to get ahead of the curve... Might give some thought to swapping a small dim fluorescent lamp out of the shed for a better one I took down yesterday.
Later at 08:39. Things are going well! Two articles done and dusted so off into the shed..... Wonderful how quickly they write themselves when you are on a subject that interests you....

Piling up the articles again and hopefully into the shed to start on the bed for the horizontal engine.... Some careful thought and measuring required!

Hubby and I spent six hours hanging a pair of drapes...and that is all I am going to say on the matter.
Another pair to hang tomorrow.
Meanwhile...I have earned a nice glass of Red Wine. :laugh5:
