Only to several areas of wall, Wendy.
And a bit of ceiling
And I could have done with a Blood Pressure check yesterday when he came to pick curtain fabric, and curtain tracks with me, and questioned my super accurate measurements. I got a bit weary explaining my measurements over and over again. He had every opportunity to take his own measurements but said he trusted me (until we got to the shop!).

But No,,,not a single drop of blood lost today.
But not generally a lot of blood lost when you strangle someone, is there?!

I've never met anyone so doomed when it comes to DIY, Cazza ( though he has managed to fix your taps a few times).

I should have had an inkling of things to come many years ago when we planned a dado rail with wallpaper below it. I drew a line around the entire lounge, dining room and hallway and laid all the wallpaper. His job was to lay the wooden rail...which he did...two inches above the top edge of the wallpaper...and he never could explain why he did that.

We have a lot of laughs you know. Very few angry words...
I did get banished from the room twice today. The first time, he called me back because he was up the ladder and couldn't reach the hammer. I couldn't find it...turns out he had put it on top of a high cupboard. After I fished it down, he waved me out of the room again.

What a good job you have a sense of humour Maz! Mind you, we all have our moments. I once wall papered the big front room at Hey Farm, first time I had ever done any. I learned on the job and got on quite well despite helpful hints from my dad who was living with us at the time. I remember him walking away from me at one point muttering "You make me pee blood....!" Never really understood that. It was a big room, 25ft square. That's a lot of rolls of paper and by the time I finished I was pretty good at it.
About a week later Vera broke the bad news, it was a floral paper and all the flowers were upside down..... None of us, not even my worst critic, my dad, had noticed! Give David a big hug from me!
Today I have a clear programme of tasks and work in the shed and at noon my Mate Joan Smith is calling in to see me, My cup overfloweth!

Today went much better, with the hanging of the second pair of drapes...only took 3 hours and wasn't banished from the room once. If neither of them are hanging off the wall in the next few days I will claim it a success.
I have vivid memories of the kitchen cupboard incident - a cupboard he mounted on the wall above the sink - which "sank" down the wall about six inches over the next two days!
( the thing is he is a real sweetheart and always wants to help).

I will give him your cuddle later.

Yes it will. One thing he won't touch is wallpaper. I do any wallpapering,
At least you got the entire room wrong...he would just get one strip on each wall wrong so it would be obvious...and luck would have it that he had bought the last rolls of that pattern in the entire universe and there was no more to be had.

In those far off days when we had no TV and Vera was left on her own with the kids and a radio that would only pick up one station for days at a time while I tramped round looking for work she used to sit in the front room counting the flowers.... She said it helped her to go to sleep.
Today I shall be in the shed so no surprise there!

I think she was fortified by the knowledge I was out there working my socks off and we had no debts. It was as hard for her as it was for me but she didn't have to work outside the house. We survived......

You can have one now. That isn't crap on the negative it's light snow. It's bloody cold out there as well. I have just salted the back yard to stop it accumulating.

Nasty here, not very deep but wet on top of ice. My Art class in Rawtenstall was cancelled this morning. I thought I may not get back home.

Watch out for slippy pavements Sue. They are deadly at the moment in Barlick. I shall be in the rocking chair reading Wolf Hall... Bugger the shed!

Have a look at Shed Matters, a good day even though I took the risk of shifting the big machine vice again. I reckon it weighs about 130lbs..... Making good if steady progress (no mistakes!) and I will be in there again this morning despite the cold.
