It would be safe with me, Stanley. Not a fan of Mango...not a fan of Ginger.
Turkey sausages for us tonight. I prefer Chicken Sausages, but Turkey ones are passable.
Served with Mash, Baby Peas, Carrots, Cauliflower and Onion Gravy. (Cooked the onions for ages so hopefully they won't make us "windy".)
Nothing worse than a "windy" evening....

Some pasta with wild garlic. I’ve had some wild garlic in a pot for some time, and it has now seeded into the damp bits into the corners of the (small) garden. Made a pesto with some leaves, served with spaghetti, a red chilli a good glug of olive oil and lots of parmesan. Thornton-in-Craven is awash with wild garlic this time of year.

Chicken tonight, with purple broccoli and roasters.

Col made a beef curry with left over beef from our Sunday roast, served with cauliflower "rice" and okra cooked in butter.

Sally went foraging last week and has produced a few jars of garlic pesto for the hedgerow cupboard. You are right about Thornton, Sally tends to go to wilder places with less chance of road contaminants.

Yissshhhh...garlic!
The Maz is turning a very unhealthy shade of grey.
How can a human eat that stuff? It makes me shudder just to smell it.

Green yummy goodness Maz, (sorry about that). One of the better greens has loads of health benefits, stops bugs biting you as well.

Live in your deluded state....garlic is disgusting.
I get upset that they sneak it into so many foods. We recently had fish from a fish and chip shop. I had to bin it as soon as I opened the paper.

‘……..wilder places with less chance of road contaminants.’

And four strides in, away from the dog pee!

Try as I might, I have yet to locate wild garlic on Wirral.

Cattle love wild Garlic. We had a Jersey Milk producer up Cam Lane in Thornton and his cattle got into the quarry. We ended up making butter with the milk but that too was tainted. In the end it went to Nestles at Ashby to go into chocolate. There's a good bed of Garlic in the wood on the hill down to the Kennels at Gisburn. Fish meal has the same effect on milk and eggs if there's too much in the ration.
Yesterday I had a bowl of stew for dinner and half a bowl plus a Stilton and tomato butty for tea. That finished it off.

You won't hear me say this very often, but we had McDonalds.
One of the drawbacks of living in a small coastal community is that there is very little choice after 7pm at night. It is either McDonalds or the pizza outlet at the petrol station!
We were held up at a local meeting which went way longer than expected...driving home with rumbling bellies we took the easy option. No more McDonalds for at least a year!'I will be lucky if I have digested this burger by next week...

Bacon and egg butties for dinner (the bacon needed finishing off). Two small pressed beef butties for tea. I feel steak puddings coming on!

Steak pudding, beans and defrosted stew for dinner. For tea I grilled a small rump steak after marinading in Lea and Perrins, olive oil, salt and pepper and had it on two oven bottoms. It was good steak, well aged and I got the cooking exactly right. Lovely butties......

I've got as far as swinging on the freezer door and deciding on a Chicken Breast. That is now defrosting on a plate, but I haven't decided what I will do with it yet.
Just heading out for our walk. I think it will be the Beach today...

Maz, far be it from me to criticise your cooking but far better to defrost in the microwave immediately before cooking or slowly in the fridge. Gives no time for the bugs to waken up and start breeding as they sit at room temperature.....

I give it an hour out on the bench to get it started, then pop it in the fridge actually.
Don't like defrosting anything in the microwave...

Tasmanian Salmon tonight, and we haven't had Rice for weeks so I thought we would have some Jasmine Rice.
Then I pondered what to have with it and have sliced a lot of Veg/Red Onion/Red Capsicum and made a Quick Chinese Pickled Vegatable Medley to pop on top of the Rice. That pickle will sit in the fridge all day ( ingredients are wafer thin), and I shall bother it now and then to make sure everything "pickles".
I didn't have any Rice Vinegar, so I made up a combo of White Wine Vinegar and Apple Cider Vinegar. ( with the obligatory teaspoon of Salt and teaspoon of Sugar.) and I couldn't help but add a kick of Piri Piri.
I am looking forward to trying these Veg.
They will be drained well of course.

Sounds like powerful stuff Maz!
I was nowhere near as adventurous. I grilled three tomatoes in lea and Perrins and olive oil and had black pudding butties for dinner and tea with the tomatoes. Two small butties each time with half a black pudding divided between them.

Home made chicken parma with veggies tonight.

Maz, let us know how the pickles were, they sound great. BTW I just bought hot piri piri; up until now I've use the mild. Should I be afraid?

Liz, the pickled veg were lovely. I did rinse the veg and drain them before serving. This was mainly because we don't eat Salt as a general rule. I have sent Stanley a pic of our dinner. ( my veg mix consisted of thinly cut carrot/onion/cauliflower/zucchini/cabbage and red capsicum) I think Spring Onion and Radish would go well in it, but I didn't have those to hand. I also threw some quartered baby tomatoes in half way thru the day, just to see how they would turn out. They were nice.
Of course, you can add Garlic!
I use the hot Piri Piri. We do like a bit of kick! Of course, it depends how much you shake in! ( my head has never left my shoulders yet).
