I'm pleased with the paint colour on the panelling. I matched the lighter bluey green colour on the tiles almost exactly, but worried that it was too dark when I got it home. It is darker than it looks it the pic, but I think it will be OK.

Very nice Wendy, that is similar to the kitchen we put in the cottage only there we put mock wood worktop. I bet you are pleased with the overall effect

Our new kitchen at home is shiny dove grey, very different from the cottage we refurbished. We had cream before the grey. I do love the look of the cream but the style of the units would not have suited thus house.

I had oak doors at the other house and didn't think I'd like a light colour but have been impressed with how practical they are, the kitchen is so much brighter too.

Yes Kev, we had an all wood effect kitchen before, the difference is amazing. We went for fully coated non profile doors, they have a feature panel indent but its routed into the panel. Dead easy to keep clean and nowhere for condensation to gather.

Ian. Your mention of condensation reminded me of the fact that my house is remarkably free from damp and condensation. I don't know whether this is a result of the Reverse Osmosis damp course or just luck but it's welcome!

I won't show Col your kitchen Tiz, I talked him out of a stainless steel splashback! We got a black extractor hood very similar to yours which went up yesterday...I'm not sure I like it.
Perhaps we could swap it for a stainless steel one.

We have a black glass splash back and stainless extracter...I like it very much indeed. The glass is easier to clean than the stainless steel

I happened to have a sheet of brushed stainless steel in the shed...... I set fire to my extractor over the hob. I feel shabby.......

The kitchen looks great, Wendy, well done both of you. You and Sue are right about avoiding stainless steel, especially brushed stainless. We got one thinking it looked good and it's never clean no matter what we do. We should have gone for glass.
