Belly Pork butty last night. A loaf in the machine a bit of belly pork left and some baby spuds and onions sat on the draining board.... Something will occur to me later!

Nice rump steak Butty for dinner and a thick soup based on some of Jack's dog food with veggies for tea. (You should be fed as well as him!)

Stopped off at a friends on the way back from Brittany she had cooked tea for us. Roast duck breasts with port sauce with lots of different veggies and roast potatoes followed by rhubarb and strawberry crumble and syrup sponge both with either custard or cream. Eileen

Hope you keep enjoying the broad beans Sue. There are some broad beans recipes in Col's "Balance" magazine this month (The Diabetes UK magazine) I will have a look and see if there is anything worth passing on.
I'm getting a weekly crop of spinach so last night's meal was a chicken & spinach curry. We had it with brown basmati rice, which takes ages to cook, but has a delicious nutty flavour and is very good for Col's blood sugar levels.

We went out to a new Indian last night in Whitefield 117 lovely place used to be the Junction pub home of one of the hangmen. Food was excellent today we are having fish and new potatoes. Eileen

Broad bean recipes would be welcome Wendy, there don't seem to be too many about. I made up my own broad bean and mint soup recipe.

Broad beans simmered till almost soft and eaten on their own with butter are a nice simple change. Same applies to almost every vegetable but we tend not to eat them like this for their on sake. During the war we had many a tea of boiled onions with bread and butter.
I had my meals planned out. Two mature sirloin steaks marinaded and two steak butties in mind. I had one for lunch but then my daughter turned up and demanded food! She got the benefit of the second steak on home made bread and her face was a picture... I had a fried tomato and bacon butty for tea and a well-fed daughter!

Had a little party with sandwiches, little pies and cake. The grandchildren enjoyed it so it's the fish for tea tonight Eileen

I had the last of my steaks on a butty. Marinaded all day in Lea and Perrins' and grilled slowly. Not a bad butty!

Finney Haddock last night with peas, supposed to have minted potatoes (ready made ASDA) Dave's suggestion they were awful so these went in the bin Eileen

Butcher's day today so last night I had pie and peas for tea. Dinnertime was a bit different. I have been fancying an egg poacher and a lady at Shambles offered to look for one for me when she was shopping. I got it yesterday and so had two poached eggs on toast for dinner. I gave her a single red rose as a token of my love and affection for the trouble she had taken. Now that caused a stir in the shop..... worth £2 to see the look on her face! (Must keep working on my legacy, when I die I want them to say what a nice man I was!)

I had a soft finger roll in our neck of the woods known as a bunny with low fat Philledelpia and tomatoes. We had lunch in Southport at Riches I was good there as well Jacket potatoe with salad and tuna. Stanley I don't think you will have a problem with the epitaph Eileen

Pie and peas for lunch and for tea I had a little present that Stewart chucked in my shopping nag yesterday, four little rounds of fillet steak that had gone slightly too dark for general sale. Marinaded all day in Lea and Perrins' and with the addition of a couple of perfectly poached eggs mad one and a half butties on home made bread. Pity the poor pensioners forced to eat food like this......

The nose is still the best indicator Eileen, better than sell-by dates!
Mince and carrots with spaghetti for tea. Nice, I shall have it with rice today.

Chicken & Fennel with tagliatelle on Saturday and last night was lamb chops braised in a red wine sauce with new potatoes and a veggie mix of carrot, baby turnip & mange tout.

Thats enough cooking for one week, beans on toast again tonight.

The savoury mince with rice this time filled the bill at dinnertime and tea. My mind wanders towards black pudding and poached eggs....
