Getting 'beach ready' for the summer Sue?
I shall be pursuing my shed improvements. Got word from my mate Mick the Shed this morning that he has found me a goodie and it's in the post.....

I bought some lovely fabric on Sunday, and spent most of today making a very large tablecloth.
Our dining table is huge and I wanted a special cloth to sit on it when it's not being used...so the fabric is heavy and I have inset a panel of different fabric down the middle ( which I have also used to bind the edges).
I enjoyed the sewing, but found the heavy fabric a bit hard to wrestle under the machine at times. Someone must have been watching over me, and sent some lovely warm sunshine through the window behind me right on to my shoulders and back which I found very soothing and I was able to keep going until it was complete.
A very satisfying day...

Looks like a good day for knitting.
We had advanced notice that our power would be off between 8am - 3.30pm today. The battery on Febby's laptop won't last him long, so I expect he will be looking to go for a walk shortly.
I have a thermos of hot water put by.

Maz, a heavy brocade cover for the kitchen table if it was a good one was standard equipment in the old days. I think Margaret still has a purpose made false top which folds up for the same purpose.....

Craft this morning, then lunch out, followed by my very last visit to Dads house. My brother is coming up from Cardiff at the weekend to see the solicitor on Monday to finalise things including solicitors bills for dealing with dads will etc. It will be a last visit tinged with sadness. Happy to sell the house and a final end to all the years of distress, but also the end of a phase of my life and my Mums and Dads lives. Odd feeling.

It is isn't it.... I remember how surprised I was when my mother died and a friend pointed out that I was now an orphan! Perfectly true of course but it puts you in an entirely different world. A friend of mine has just lost her husband after caring for him for many years through a very distressing illness. When she gave me the news she said that her sadness was tinged with immense relief now that the burden had been lifted from her. I understand completely and wish her well. She is still a comparatively young woman and deserves all the happiness she can get. So all the best to you Sue, you have stayed the course and now have treasures in heaven!
I shall be finishing my chuck and gloating over it!

I finished mounting the chuck on the 1927 lathe yesterday. As near dead accurate as makes no difference. I think Johnny would approve..... Big question now is what to do next......

After being chided by Ian I shall have to address the matter of the wiring to the high current switch for my oil-cooled welder!
Later.... my crystals are flickering a bit this morning. I might give myself a day off the shed and just pamper myself.....

I've been out trimming some bushes with my rechargeable hedge trimmers.
Fantastic bit of kit, and it is just like shearing a sheep...jolly good fun. They are recharging now ready for a second round.
In the meantime, I am determined to wrestle hubby from his chair and drag him out into the sunshine for a walk. Lovely day for it.

Driving the M6 corridor, picking our Ruby up from school today and bringing her up North. Half term and a few days with both or Granddaughters up around Hawes in a few days. Were going to explore the "Forbidden Corner"
