The last of the ham on the last two oven bottoms for dinner. I boiled new potatoes and carrots, added some peas at the end of cooking and had a bowl of veggies plus one very small smoked mackerel fillet for tea. Fruit for pudding.

Boring for some I know but I had veggies plus smoked mackerel for dinner and tea, there were three small mackerel fillets in the pack and they needed eating. I enjoyed both meals..... Treated myself to a very small butty of Stilton on toast for a filler after tea. I have more veggies for today, the cauli was £1.09 but I bit the bullet because I like them.....

I had the last of the veggies for dinner with a poached egg on top. I did veggie shopping during the morning and by teatime had a big pan of carrots, parsnips and peas plus a smaller pan of new potatoes (Not many Wendy, just enough for balance!) For tea I had veggies again with a tin of mackerel fillets in tomato sauce. Very nice.....

I started the day yesterday by putting shin beef and oxtail on a bed of onions in the slow cooker. I tipped a tin of chopped tomatoes over the top and added the usual suspects. By dinnertime the meat had produced a rich gravy to I pinched some, put it on a broken up Cornish pasty and topped the bowl up with veggies. by teatime I had de-boned the ox tail and cut the shin up into bite size chunks so I had that on another small bowl of veggies. I had two very small toasted Burgen Butties with Stilton on as a top up. Fruit for pudding.

Veggie with the meat stew as sauce for dinner and tea. Funny evening, I didn't feel full so I had a meat pie and later two very small Burgen butties with blueberry Wensleydale as a filler. Didn't feel at all guilty!

I cooked more veggies. New potatoes, carrots and cabbage steamed on top. Shin and oxtail stew plus veggies for dinner and tea and two bowls for today prepared and put in the fridge. Good job I am not phased by having the same thing three days on the trot. Essential if you are a Singleton who cooks.

Dead simple, I had two small bowls of veggies and the beef stew in the fridge. One for dinner and one for tea. Followed tea with a single small toasted Burgen butty with a fried egg on it to fill a corner....

Yesterday was healthy eating day. Dinner and tea were both a small Burgen butty with cheese and tomato and a bowl of muesli for afters. Elaine's toasted hazelnut muesli is expensive, (£3.50 per kilo) but much nicer that Jordan's..... (Does wonders for your transit time as well!)

Mrs Tiz tried out this recipe for Marmalade Coconut Slices which I can attest turned out very tasty! It's from the magazine supplement in The Times newspaper last Saturday.

Thanks Tiz...I shall try that recipe on the next lot of guests.

Cleared the fridge of Veg as it is shopping day tomorrow. Made a large(ish) Veg Bake this afternoon and we shall have that with Chicken and Leek Pie tonight.
The left over Veg Bake will be frozen in a micro-wave suitable container for enjoyment when we go away in the van.
Waste not...

Funny you should mention that Liz. I had a funny turn in the butcher's yesterday and decided I fancied a very small ready cooked half chicken. I had it for dinner, just sat there with a towel on my knee and picked it bare. Very enjoyable. There's something about eating using your fingers.... For tea I had a tin of baked beans with a steak pudding sitting on top. Still hungry so I had two very small toasted Burgen butty with St Augur and roll mop herring in them. Lovely!

Two and a Half toasted Burgen butties with pressed beef on them for dinner. Cornish Pasty and baked beans for tea with two small Burgen butties with St Augur and roll-mop herring. A tiny bowl of muesli later to fill a corner. I think I'm enjoying my grub too much, must be careful......

I surveyed the piste yesterday and bearing in mind that I shall be away all next week decided to make sure certain things were cleared up. I had two onions and three tomatoes in the dish on the cill so I fried two Cumberland sausage until they were brown, set them on one side and fried the onions and tomatoes until they were cooked, than I added the cut up sausage and the usual seasonings and finished up with a bowl of sauce/sandwich filling that looked and tasted good.
Dinner was two small Burgen butties with pressed beef. I got some carrots and parsnips, boiled them, mashed them with butter and added peas. I had half a bowl of that plus the onion and tomatoes for tea, very nice.....

I finished the roll mop herring and St Augur cheese off at dinnertime , two and a half small Burgen butties. (I like this Burgen bread....) For tea I had mashed carrots and parsnips with peas and some of the Cumberland sausage, onions and tomatoes as a sauce topped up with one chipped potato. Two fried egg butties to fill up.

Sill on 'empty the fridge' tactics ready for five days away next week. Dinner was a small portion of the veggies and the sausage sauce plus a black pudding, an egg and the last chipped potato. Tea was two small Burgen butties with tomato and cheese. Fruit for pudding.

I did veggie shopping yesterday. Dinner was steamed cauliflower plus the remains of the sausage sauce and veggies. Tea was cauliflower and some of the latest mashing of boiled carrots, parsnips and added peas. I say added peas because one of the things I have found lately is that if, after you have mashed the veggies, you add and mix in frozen peas, the peas remain pleasantly al dente. Big pan full of mashed veggies sat there, no cooking today!

Dinner and tea were the same. Veggies topped with hot smoked Mackerel, fried tomatoes and an egg. Lovely grub!

Dinner was the same as yesterday, the last of the three small smoked haddock fillets with tomato and egg on veggies. Tea was a Cornish Pasty with veggies. I succumbed and bought a small date and walnut cake, it didn't last the day out! Naughty but very nice.....

Dinner yesterday was the last of the veggies plus some peas and a pork pie. Tea was bacon butties, I have grilled the bacon I had as part of the 'clear the fridge out' initiative so I have a clean start and a big shop when I get back. Something very satisfying about bottoming the contents.....

Made some tomato relish to go with the sausage and bacon butties for dinner and tea. Just enough left for dinner today and fridge is empty.....
