Looking forward to the true story documentary which will be shown the day after the last episode.

Just watched most of the Albert Hall Festival of Remembrance - or I think I have. On first switch on I thought it had been replaced by Britain's Got Talent. It looked as if it was was produced by Simon Cowell this year.
Just saw the Bishop of London - very fetching in the bright yellow. Couldn't get the thought from my mind that 'but for the grace of God', the part might have might have been played by Paula Vennells.

David, your comment about Vennells and her being in the running for the post of Bishop of London prompted me to read the Wikipedia entry on her.
I have reminded myself of much that has happened but see no mention anywhere of any sanctions on her. Public ignominy is not enough. It wasn't enough for the convicted post masters and mistresses.

I heard the woman who is the current Bishop of London give the address at the Cenotaph yesterday and I reflected on what it would have been like listening to a hypocrite like Vennells doing it. Thank you David!
I tried to watch Until I kill you last night but it failed to grab my attention. I want to be intrigued and entertained, not battered by sheer awfulness like that. Sorry kids, I gave up and watched Robert cooking for his mother on Youtube.
(David, she's back home now and looking remarkably well!)

We watched Wolf Hall, a good period drama.

I heard the other day that they are filming the last book of the trilogy where Cromwell is executed.....

Damian Lewis is excellent as the menacing Henry and I don't think you get anyone better than Mark Rylance to play the quite, cool and calculating Cromwell.
Damian Lewis will always be Dick Winters to me though.

I looked at Wolf Hall and found that it is actually based on the third book, 'The Mirror and the Light'. And it's all available on i-Player so I watched the first episode. Once more, the production team have managed to get to the highest standards and it is a credit to them. I really enjoyed it even though it makes me sad because of course I know what's coming.

We watched parts 3 and 4 of The Hardacres in ch5, not 100% sure what I think of that one, but will watch the last 2, so it can’t be bad.

Watched the final two of The Hardacres, glad I stuck with it, very disappointed when it finished, there’s got to be another one.

They’ve certainly left it wide open for another.

Sally saw something about it being available on Netflix but can't remember where she saw it. I have looked and can't find it on there yet.
Can't see a new second series being passed on to Netflix first myself. Maybe the first series which would make more sense.

I treated myself to 'A Very English Scandal' to remind me of the politics of the 1960s. Just as good as I remembered....

I watched a second instalment of the Jeremy Thorpe story. Just as good as the first.

Watched the third and last of the series on Thorpe and then the series surprised me by moving into the scandal around the Duchess of Argyll. So I watched the first instalment of that.

If, like me, you have been wondering what is happening around 'The Repair Shop', this Youtube video might give some clues....

Did anyone watch "Only Child" last night on BBC? It stars Gregor Fisher - Rab C Nesbitt and Para Handy.
Not sure what to make of it - but it's the first 'comedy' show I've watched the whole way through for a while - so I must have liked it.
Here's what the Guardian thought about it. Only Child

Not TV but radio. I am listening to the first of 4 Reith Lectures on violence. Not a fun listen but very rewarding......I recommend it.
