The only good thing about brushed stainless is that it is durable and doesn't rust.....
It looks amazing Wendy. The first thought that came into my mind was that Mrs Butterfield would think it was a miracle. Col is quite amazing.....
(By the way, what happened to the other story........)

It was our kitchen fitter who suggested the change. It would never have happened if the stainless steel one delivered had fitted! Later when we were cleaning the cottage after our tennant left we found we could not get the stainless steel splash back clean no matter what we did. We realised then we had made a good choice for our own kitchen

Mrs Faulkner thinks it's a miracle! I ran out of steam on the other story and lost my photographs under a pile of history society stuff. I'll have a good tidy up, get my accounts in order and resume the story....

You are probably reacting to all the sawdust that needs sweeping up around here! I hope to have moved back into the Christmas by Kitchen....
the other worktop is now in place and the cupboard doors poised to go on...it depends on how many more problems present themselves twixt then and now - or now and then!
I'm pondering over recipes for a low-carb Xmas meal...

Just under 4 inches taller. I do the majority of the cooking so she doesn't need to

I hope you share what your Christmas Menu is.
Not that I intend cooking anything this Christmas. We do all our pop-in visits prior to Christmas and it's just the Master and I on Christmas Day. All I intend doing is throwing a cold Prawn Salad together. That will do us. We don't do sweet treats or pudding. ( we will still opt for the afternoon sleep afterward

)

Can I come to your house Maz?

Our Christmas is ridiculous. 25 at my son's house for my family on the 18th, Christmas day again at his house and then 32, husband's family, at our house for a sit down lunch on 27th. It sounds a lot but up until now all the get togethers have always been here, so I'm feeling very relieved. It's the first time any of our kids have 'stepped up'. (and they are 41 and almost 40).

Can you imagine what it will be like if it's a 40 degree day? We don't have air conditioning, just fans, and the only way we can fit everyone at a table is to be outside. And they insist on a formal sit down meal!!

No...Sorry Liz...but not for me. ( I've only done one event as big as that...about 40 odd of Hubby's workmates to ours one Christmas...never again...it went well but too much!)

Yes ... You are welcome at ours! I thought if it was a nice day we could take our Prawn Salad to the beach...and sleep off a bottle of wine down there before walking home. Might even go for a swim...

I would stack the dishwasher wearing nowt but a smile, if my husband could/would cook!
Mind you, I think some drapery, properly placed, would enhance things...and maybe no harsh lighting...candlelight being the most flattering...after a few wines with the meal?

Maz I totally agree. One of my tastiest Xmas dinners was Dripping on toast.......

I am expecting Colin has his music cranked up, and is cooking you a meal to remember, wearing nothing but a chef's hat and a smile. A big occasion...first meal in your beautiful kitchen. The animals are all sat about watching Mum and Dad behaving outrageously. The wine is flowing.
Pics appreciated, ( though pics of Colin wearing nothing but a chef's hat best done from the rear...and maybe the careful positioning of a basket of veg)
