Yesterday was wet and windy for the most part. At 20:00 it had bated but it was obvious more was to come. First thing this morning we have a light breeze and we are under a ragged sky hiding the moon. There has been a recent rain shower. The glass is down on 990mb. the forecast is for rain to come in in a couple of hours and stay with us all day. The constant WSW wind is brisk and gusts to 0ver 45mph giving us a high of 10C and a low of 4C with as much as a -6C wind chill this afternoon. Deep Joy! The outlook is for similar broken windy weather and getting colder next week.

I was kept awake by torrential rain last night but as soon as that eased off the wind got up and we had gusts up to 60mph. More of that tonight!

We’ve had rain overnight, not aware of any strong winds, fine at the moment but the sky is quite heavy.

Just back home after a bit o' tea at 23 The Grill, in Church Street, and there's a cold lazy wind. It's gusting a fair bit too, the car was getting blown all over the place.

Yesterday ended up wet and windy and at 20:00 it was blowing hard and raining. This morning we have a big wind with some violent gusts and of course accompanied by rain. The glass is down on 987mb and the forecast is for rain all day. The constant westerly wind is strong and gusts to over 50mph giving a high of 6C, a low of 4C tonight and a -5C wind chill. The outlook is for one more day of wind and rain and then the weather gets drier and much colder with overnight frosts.

Later... I have had my second sleep and am taking notice again. It isn't raining but I have no desire to go out in the cold. I shall cook veggies instead. (When I have finished this drink of tea...)

Yesterday finished up by reverting to light rain. At 20:00 it was dry but we had a sneaky little breeze and a ragged overcast. First thing this morning we had a breeze and heavy rain, it hasn't changed since.... The glass rose yesterday to almost 1000mb but this morning is falling like a stone and at the moment is on 991mb. The forecast is simple, a yellow warning for heavy rain until noon and then just rain for the rest of the day. The constant SW wind is brisk and gusts to over 40mph giving us a high of 8c and a low of 1C tonight with a -6C wind chill at times. We can expect another day of wind and rain tomorrow and then the weather becomes brighter and drier but much colder.

Luckily my appointments are on Thursday 23C and Friday 27C this week. 1mm of rain is expected on Wednesday (Yippee, haha).

Have just been informed that a cool change is on it’s way, and should take the temperature from 41C down to 23C by 7pm TONIGHT!!

Bring it on 👍 😊

Enjoy it Cathy! We have a -6C wind chill today and rain as well. January and February are the most cruel months of the year. But Susan sent me this yesterday....

I hope your cooler weather lasts Cathy.
It started to look a bit brighter around 11.30am so I took the opportunity to get out for a well waterproofed walk. It was wild and bracing but didn't rain till after I got home at 1.00pm.

Wendy, I was thinking, the weather is changing so fast that I wondered if perhaps the last of the rain that we can expect might fall as snow.

Yesterday afternoon was briefly dry but by dark had settled in for a nasty night with wind and rain allied with falling temperatures. We had hail and sleet at 16:00 and it was the same at 20:00. First thing this morning we had a strong wind with spatters of sleet and hail, it hasn't changed since except that the overcast has thinned enough for the moon to be just about visible. The glass is down on 983mb and falling. The forecast is for heavy rain until dawn but with a falling wind and clearing skies. We might then have a dry day with sunny intervals. The westerly winds are brisk with gusts to over 45mph at the moment but will ease back during the day. The high is 5C and the low tonight is -1C. The wind chill is currently as much as -7C but will gradually fall as the wind eases and be around -2C by this evening. The outlook is for calmer, drier and much colder weather for the next five days at least. Expect daily figures near freezing and hard frosts at night.

We’ve had rain overnight, fine at the moment but doesn’t look like that’s going to last, hardly any breeze at all.

Yesterday stayed mostly dry to teatime. At 20:00 it was breezy again, dry and very cold under a clouded sky. This morning it's the same but with evidence of a recent light shower. The glass rose slightly during the day but has fallen back to 983mb again this morning. The forecast is for a dry day with sun later but there is a yellow warning of ice underfoot until 10:00. The constant NW wind is light to moderate and gives us a high of 1C and a low tonight of -4C with a -6C wind chill later. The effect is that the perceived temperature today will be below freezing and as low as -6C this afternoon. Wrap up warm! The six day outlook is for similar weather.....
