Thank you for your kind offer, I've just booked a Sainsbury's delivery for tomorrow morning so that should keep us going for a bit. Symptoms wise it's more of an inconvenience than anything, runny nose and a mild headache

Sore throat this morning but the headache has gone, still negative on the LFT for me. I will continue testing on a daily basis, we have ordered another couple of boxes.

Well Chemists in Barlick have stock Kev. Box by the door with a note to take what you need.

Went to a drive through PCR testing station this morning as I'm unsure of the accuracy of the LFT.
Two people, been to the same places and both have the same symptoms. P shows as positive on a LFT and I'm negative, weird.

It does sound strange but I suppose there is still an element of chance. Let us know what they said....

PCR result came in overnight, it's positive. The LFT taken the same day was negative.
Symptoms are like a cold, stuffy nose, headache, sore throat, annoying cough and occasional blurred vision. Not something I'd normally stay indoors with.
I have an oximeter and have tested a couple of times, levels vary between 95 and 97% so still within normal levels, 36.6 for temperature so that's normal too.
I would imagine covid is much more prevalent than any figures show with most people not even realising they have it. I'll keep myself locked in the cupboard for a few days until I feel better.

Hard luck Kev. You were right about the negative test.... Treat it seriously and give yourself a chance to get over it.

We’ve come out in sympathy with you Kev, we’ve both tested positive. Headaches, sore throat, runny nose, feel knackered.

You have my sympathy Gloria. We've been lucky and avoided it for two years, at least we get to increase the antibodies now
It's just an inconvenience to be socially responsible until I feel better.

The cough is annoying, luckily mine is intermittent. It's the headache that seems to be the worst symptom here. Paracetamol is doing its thing though

That’s good that they’re checking up on you.

I suppose this was bound to happen as we and many medics predicted with the government lifting ALL restrictions at once against advice. One exception I noticed this morning. I have an email from the MYDentist Group, I use Harrison Street dentists. They say that their ruling council has not lifted restrictions and all visitors are still required to wear masks, hand sanitise and. social distance while in the practice.

I hope you are all feeling better soon. I tested yesterday as clear before I attended a meeting with other trustees and a potential sponsor at our centre. I will test again today before our Trustees meeting tonight.

I can say, with a high level of confidence, that we both contracted it on the cruise ship. Mask wearing and hand sanitizing is a requirement for everyone on board, I doubt you'd find a cleaner environment really.

We have certainly entered a new phase. The Omicron variant - (currently a sub variant BA.2) is much more infectious than previous ones, but not as damaging. This is emphasised by the news that my granddaughter has tested positive. The family have been exemplary in their compliance with all rules and guidelines over the whole period. As with those on here - fairly mild symptoms similar to the common cold. The fact that the rest of the family might be infected is causing little concern.

Yet still - both of you are infected. I trust you will both feel better very soon.That reinforces my (and Professor Van Tam's) view that cloth face coverings serve little practical prophylactic purpose. I've used them when requested - but for politeness not protection.
