Looks good Maz.

I borrowed my sisters air fryer and tried to make sweet potato crisps. The only word to describe the result was horrible. The first lot were either burnt black or so salty they were inedible. The second batch lost all their beautiful sweet potato flavour and were bitter.

If there is anyone who has any idea how to make these please tell me.

Can't help you but keep experimenting, because air fryers are great, Liz.
I've never attempted cooking Sweet Potato in mine.

Our Homity Pie was well enjoyed. (Lovely!)
Hubby is still raving over it. The extra is in the freezer for popping in our toaster oven on our next caravan adventure...

Those pies look good Maz.
Liz, I posted on sweet potato chips but it's vanished. I'd fry them in hot oil or fat in a frying pan turning them frequently and taking them out as soon as they were crisp and golden..... Slice very thin so that all the water is driven out.....

I started the day determined to make fried cabbage and bacon but by the time I had fried the large Spanish onion with the bacon my pan was full so I transferred it to a large saucepan, added the cabbage and cooked it down in there before putting it in the slow cooker to argue with itself. At the same time I boiled and mashed carrots. I had some spuds left so I had chips, cabbage, bacon and onions and mashed carrot for dinner and filled a bowl with the same for tea.
By teatime I wasn't hungry so left the bowl in the fridge and had two small cheese butties on toasted Borgen. This morning I have extended the contents of the slow cooker with tinned new potatoes and mushy peas.

We have been told to "expect a storm" all day...so Febby requested Cauliflower Cheese Soup for evening meal.
Ha!...it got to 31 C for most of the afternoon, so I found the soup a bit warming and heavy.
Never mind...the storm is now due to hit in the early hours. There is going to be quite a rumble, apparently it will be an electrical storm.
20C tomorrow with storms too.
Plenty of Soup left! Bring on the rain...

A sort of shepherd's pie made with the remains of Sunday's brisket joint and topped with mashed celeriac and grated cheese.

I had the extended onion cabbage and bacon for dinner and tea, it was lovely! I shall do it again. I finished up with a clean slow cooker and two bowls of grub in the fridge ready for the microwave so that's today's cooking taken care of.
Maz, I love big electrical storms, they fascinate me!

Last of the cabbage and onion for dinner and tea with plenty of Egremont Russets. I enjoyed everything. I can't remember a better season for the Russets.....

Butcher's day so Steak pudding and baked beans for dinner and half a small cooked chicken picked for tea. Not quite satisfied so I followed it with a meat pie.....

Roast turkey dinner, and all the trimmings, we have 5 guests making 7 in all and 5 of us are not having a traditional Christmas dinner this year so I have decided to make one. With all the alterations and decorating we haven't entertained much this year so I thought I would make it special , it's the first time in years we have all been together.

I started a steak and kidney slow pot with tomatoes and fried cabbage and bacon.... Lovely combination. For dinner I had a steak pudding and mushy peas with some gravy from the slow pot. For tea I had a meat pie and the steak and kidney. One of my better efforts, lovely grub! No cooking today!

One each ( two for the freezer). They were "light" and yum. Just enough on a hot day with a bit of Salad.

I envy you having heavier meals...enjoy them...and keep warm!
