Had a portion of Pastry left over from the Quiches yesterday and couldn't bear to throw it away, so I popped it in the fridge. Today I thawed some minced beef, cooked it with onion and boiled some spuds, then mashed them.
Result...two small Beef and Potato Pies. They will be nice for Tea with some Peas.

(Pastry two days in a row. Not good for a body! Will choose wisely tomorrow... )

I had the last of the mutton for dinner. Muesli and an apple pie for tea and during the day I cooked up some more mutton.
Later.... I de-fatted the gravy last night and de-boned the meat. This mutton is rib and skirt, the toughest meat on the animal but long slow cooking has tenderised it and the bonus is that though tough it is tasty! I boiled carrots and broth bits yesterday and mashed the result. I have put that in the mutton this morning and by 10:00 I shall have a lovely mutton and veggie stew. No cooking for a couple of days!

Wendy, what do you mean, 'attempt' stuffed peppers....?
I had mutton stew for dinner. I was going to have the same at tea time but instead I filled four bowls and put them in the fridge. Washed the slow cooker and had black pudding on toast instead. No cooking today!

I've never done them before, so it was my first attempt! We had some meaty bolognese sauce left over from Sunday so it was easy just to pile it into half peppers, top with grated cheese and bake in the oven. They were very tasty served with lots of salad stuff.

I had half a small white cabbage and an opened half packet of bacon in the fridge so I made cabbage, bacon and fried tomato and topped the four bowls of mutton stew up. I had two yesterday, one for dinner and the other for tea. Lovely stuff.

I had steak pudding and mushy peas for dinner. During the day I started a stew in the slow cooker with some oxtail and stewing steak on a bed of onions and garlic. At the same time I cooked cabbage, carrots and sprouts by adding some of the gravy from the slow cooker and steaming them slowly so I didn't have to pour any valuable veggie water off them. Later I de-boned the oxtail and topped the stew up with the steamed veggies. For tea I had a meat pie with steamed veggies and some gravy from the stew. no cooking today!
I noticed THIS on the BBC website this morning..... The man who says things turn out brown and tasteless is a stranger to condiments and probably browns his meat in the frying pan before cooking..... I love my slow cooker!

This morning's stew. Neither brown or tasteless!

Last night I did chicken thighs stuffed with garlicky cream cheese and wrapped in bacon, with broccoli, green beans and cauliflower.Col is heating up some lamb curry from the freezer tonight with cauli rice, and this lunchtime we had cauliflower soup with cheese on toast. (Lidl high protein rolls - very low on carbs!)
Cauliflower is wonderful!!

I agree about cauliflower Wendy. It's been a good growing season for them but they are getting a bit expensive now.
I had a bowl of the stew for dinner and put the rest of the steamed veggies in from the fridge. For tea I had a small FREE Xmas pudding (with cream) from the Co-op. No cooking today!

I had a cabbage and some lardons in the fridge so I fried them and had a bowl of stew for dinner topped with it. I put the rest in the stew and at teatime I had another bowl and put the rest into three bowls and popped them in the fridge. No cooking today!
