Just a bit previous there Maz! Give me till the end of the weekend...oh, and the photos will be of the (nearly) finished kitchen BEFORE all the stuff goes back in...perhaps a tastefully arranged vase of flowers on show but probably not a naked chef!

It must be the heat that affects her in strange ways Moh.
I think Col will need to lie down in a darkened room for at least 6 months Ian! Latest setback is that the new dishwasher wont quite fit in...Col thinks he assumed the side panels on the units were 18mm but they are 22mm. Luckily there is space to nudge one of the cupboards 4mm to the left without causing too many problems. What next?? Photos may be delayed till Xmas morning.

I am afraid our lounge will NOT be finished before Christmas. Slow but sure. The plastering and ceiling repair are done, coving back up( nearly) , first coat of emulsion over the new plaster has been applied. Gloss to do, wallpapering to do
Indeed we still have to buy some, tiling of the hearth to do and indeed to buy tiles. AND location of leak above the chimney breast and subsequent repair has to be tested i.e. We need some rain

Ok it's upside down, i rotated it the wrong way, help please someone! It's not my day today

Don't worry, we won't have to use those funny foreign measurements after Brexit, they'll all be banned in the UK. Side panels will be 1" or 2".

Don't worry, we won't have to use those funny foreign measurements after Brexit, they'll all be banned in the UK. Side panels will be 1" or 2".

We really don't have a problem with metric measurements Tiz despite voting to leave the EU!

How I remember the sawdust. I found this today, it was 3 years ago this week and yes I did cook a Christmas dinner in it

I like the use of most of the corners, running the services up the corner uses space that normally is not used to well, and frees us other space where pipework prevents much from happening. Just the upper cupboard left hand corner , where normally tins of strange stuff one wondered why one bought it end up.

I like the Stanley Stove...... Well done Col. That man is a treasure! I am assuming all the floorboards are back in place? I note the brass rail on the beam above the stove hasn't materialised......

I like the stove too. I wanted one but no room at the inn as they say. It's all looking really nice

Stanley runs the central heating too, and now that all the house is insulated and the kitchen a cosy place Colin might let me keep the oven on low during winter days for extra comfort!
I still plan on introducing the brass rail as a possibility once the stress levels have dropped....shhh!

Lovely Wendy, in fact, thinking back over 50 years, miraculous! Love the sink in front of the window, now I want a pic of the view from there....
That's reminded me of the farm kitchen at one of my cattle customers on the West Coast above Ayr. Her sink was like yours and just at the end of the grass was a 50ft drop to the beach road and her view was of Arran across the Firth about 12 miles away. Only one problem, while they were on holiday the leccy board came and renewed the pole for the supply. They put it in directly in front of the window and she had been fighting them for weeks to get it shifted 4ft! The day I was there I looked through the window and saw the QE2 on her speed and handling acceptance trials in the Firth. 50,000 tons doing over 35 knots..... Neither do I Sue, I feel I'm in someone else's house! I hope I'll start to feel more at home once we get all our clutter moved back in.
Maz, trust you to spot the flaw in the plan! Yes the fridge goes on the end of the units and we are hoping it doesn't block the doorway too much! Might have to buy a slimmer fridge.
I'll take a photo from the sink when it gets light Stanley. It is a lovely view down my track and across the fields to Sandbeds and the Lothersdale road junction, but you can also see as far as the trig point on Pinhaw and the Skipton Road up to the masts. The various houses on Bleara Road and Broom House Farm with their Friesian milking herd. Lots to look at while you are washing up.

Nay...well...I dint mean to spot a flaw. You English have a knack of putting fridges in cupboards. Very clever. Doesn't happen here, so I thought that a good spot. mind you, we don't tend to put Washing Machines in our kitchen either.
I have a massive window in my kitchen. Floor to ceiling and about 8 foot wide. It is the first blind I open in the morning, still wrapped in the dressing gown...clutching a coffee. It just reassures me that all is well with the world, that the sun DID rise, and our baby birds are trying out their wings. One needs to "ease" their way into the day....and then I make my way around both floors opening every other blind. We have neighbours who breakfast on their front porch every morning. How civilised is that? Not for me, but I do enjoy seeing them clutching their coffee mugs in their recliners.
Then I fill a deep, hot bath, and soak myself awake. I bounce out of that bath every morning, ready to move mountains!

I love to eat breakfast outside but we don't get enough good weather to do it too often.
