It took me a while but after reviewing the posts I realised that I hadn't made the connection in Pater's post and after that had thought of the name as 'Geoff Peter' and that was what had thrown me. Of course i knew about Boycott and never liked him. I don't think I was alone.....

At least the spelling does make the verb unique and less confusing to other persons with same name
