I had the last of the new potatoes and sprouts for dinner. I boiled carrots and steamed kale and cauliflower, mashed the carrots and mixed the kale and cauliflower with it and added a can of chopped new potatoes. Had it with a Lincolnshire sausage and two fried eggs for tea. Lovely..... I shall extend it with string beans and some more potatoes this morning. Getting down to the end of the spuds Wendy!

I had veggies and another Lincolnshire sausage for dinner and the same for tea but enhanced by some well-fried tomatoes and a fried egg on top. Only small bowls and so I filled up with oat cakes and cheese and a few nuts.

I used the last can of new potatoes as a base in two bowls, then veggies and cabbage and bacon I made yesterday, topped with a chopped burger. That was dinner and tea was the same but with the addition of a fried egg as a treat....

Had a change of menu on Saturday and had the other 2 pheasant breasts done as before. Sunday was a delicious rolled shoulder of lamb from Lidle with cabbage, broccoli and roasties - repeated yesterday but with roast peppers, onions & tomatoes in place of the greens. So tonight will be Saturdays beef & ale casserole with mash & cauli.

I had a bowl of the veggie mixture left in the fridge and one cooked burger so I split it between two bowls, extended with a can of mushy peas and some frozen ones and had one bowl for dinner and the other for tea. Enjoyed them both!

I got the three small bowls of the beef stew out of the freezer and put them in the fridge to defrost slowly. I had one with mushy peas for dinner but for tea I had just steamed leafy veg and carrots. I did a big Chaudrey shop and cooked a bunch of veggies.

I divided a small bowl of beef stew into two and by adding steamed veggies (Carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage and sprouts) made two normal bowls for dinner and tea. (Wendy and Maz rule! OK?)

I roasted a shoulder of the communal pig for Jack and myself, we had it with roasties and Yorkshires. We have divided the remainder of the meat, half for Jacks pack up and the remainder for my tea. Not sure how much of the beast Jack still has in his freezer, he didn't label any of the cuts so it's pot luck what he brings up for me to cook.

Eat plenty fat and protein too, no need to go hungry! You may need to think about your salt intake and make sure you are still getting enough. High insulin levels cause the body to retain sodium, raising blood pressure, and many people find their blood pressure drops as insulin levels fall on a low carb regime.

I've been brining a pork belly overnight, dinner guests for tea tonight (not literally) so will be slow roasting it this afternoon. It will be accompanied by savoy cabbage cooked with lardons and a splash of cream and some sweet potato chips. Not sure on a sauce yet.

Needed an easy tea tonight, so had our regular plate of veg with Jamie Oliver Fish Fillet Fingers. Supposedly made ( as claimed) of Alaskan Pollock...they were quite pleasant. I had to try hard not to think of the food miles the fish had done to reach our plates ( bought them on special having never purchased a Jamie Oliver endorsed product before).
Would I buy them again? Yes, if on special. But I wouldn't pay full price. I find frozen fish consistently poor tasting and nothing like the picture on the packet...but I would probably rate Jamie Oliver Fish Fillet Fingers 7 out of 10.

I had a go at it the other night, I think I needed more 'wet' though. I'm going to try again with extra eggs and cheese, it tasted good.
The belly pork was a success

Thanks for the feedback Wendy, I think I take in enough salt..... I have been snacking on the crackling as well for a filler and you're right, it works.
Kev, snap, my present veggies stew is based on belly pork and I have Savoy Cabbage and lardons waiting to join the stew when the level drops!
I was still cooking industrial quantities of veggies at dinner time and the belly pork stew was,t quite ready so I treated myself to two small fried egg butties on toasted Borgen. The slow cooked pork, beans and veggies was finished at teatime so I had a bowl of that and one apple. I jumped on the scale this morning and weight is moving in the right direction.....I am a happy bunny!
