No problem in running two mystery objects at the same time. Your's is a proper mystery mine is just a filler.

I had intended to buy a couple of cheap second-hand novels to read, but completely forgot to look at the book stall. Oh well...next time.
I also had eyes out for any Girl Guides selling Girl Guide Biscuits, (because it is Girl Guide Biscuit month), but no luck there either. Have asked about but no-one seems to know where they may be. ( I have been on their website and sent emails but no joy. If they do turn up at my door, I shall be buying up big.)
We were ALMOST tempted by the hot pie stall at the markets, but had the will-power to walk away. ( Febby almost caved in at the thought of a custard tart).
So came home with pennies intact...

I can say that when I read the tag on it, I have seen an object that looks slightly different but is used for the same purpose. But I talk too much. After hunting through dusty objects to find such a thing I must resist giving it away.

Time for me to close mine down. Feeling in a good mood this morning. Its full marks to Marilyn For the pub suggestion, actually there is a date stone on Church St but its 1817, and the same to Pluggy and PanBiker for keeping quiet.
Its the old Foster's Arms. Reverting back to Syke House. The other adjacent date stone is shown. Just one question, the Syke appears to stop at the other side of Gisburn road, clearly it must have run behind the house, Was it called Syke House as a matter of convenience. (see forgotten corners).

So is the building a Heritage Building Plaques ??

As far as I know its a grade 2 listed building. The most common listing. Ref: Grade II: buildings that are of special interest, warranting every effort to preserve them. Yes in the strictest sense its a Heritage building although third on the list. I suppose its worth 7/10 for a try. Listed Buildings.
