I had the last of the veggies for dinner and started a new stew with a bunch of oxtail and a can of tomatoes with the usual suspects. For tea I had a chicken leg and two scotch eggs. The oxtail was cooked by bedtime so I put the gravy in a bowl in the fridge overnight to separate the fat. It will all be united this morning and veggies popped in.

We had sea bass, new potatoes, garden peas & hollandaise sauce last night.

I must admit that new potatoes are one of the things I miss under the new low carb diet..... But my strength is that of ten because I am pure........
I cooked carrots, cauli and sprouts at dinnertime and the oxtail stew is now full on veggie. I had a bowl for dinner and for tea I had the carrots, cauli and sprouts that wouldn't fit in the cooker. Then I ate a packet of pork scratchings. Once I have opened them I can't leave them alone!

I would have thought a couple now and again would do no harm, you are surely allowed a treat. We had Cajun chicken, roasties & peas.

Could that be why you have a sore gob? I'm the same with muesli and nuts.

180g of potatoes has around 30g of carbohydrate, all depends on what carbohydrate allowance you're working to

Roast chicken, cauliflower and spring cabbage last night.( I don't miss potatoes at all). I'm planning a chicken salad tonight, might go slightly Mexican with guacamole and salsa.
This morning I made a batch of nut granola to sprinkle on my breakfast yoghurt and berries. I mixed up a variety of chopped nuts with shredded coconut and sunflower seeds, toasted them lightly in a big frying pan with coconut oil and a mix of spices, then popped it all in the oven for 15 mins. Can't wait to try it tomorrow morning.

I've given up the morning porridge and feel better for it already.

Your nut granola sounds good Wendy. I'm still on the porridge with a few frozen berries before it goes into the microwave, a couple of spoonfuls of shop bought nut granola, low sugar museli and allbran mix are added after. I need to look at alternatives so may try the plain yoghurt once the bucket of porridge runs out. As long as it keeps me going until lunch

David, you could well be right, I have the same trouble with salted nuts or Salt and Vinegar crisps.
I had the oxtail and veggies X 2 yesterday for dinner and tea. My guests asked me yesterday if they could microwave a ready meal for lunch but I got them to try the oxtail.... They both came back for seconds! Then I gave them proper coffee. Lilia is Italian and said it was the best coffee she had tasted in a long while. (Mach Picchu Organic Arabica) Praise indeed!

I extended what was left of the veggie stew with a tin of baked beans and some peas. That served me well for dinner and tea. Oatcakes and cheese for afters and two small apples. I have a ham hock boiling at the moment prior to going in the slow cooker with a bottle of vintage cider. I have a Savoy cabbage and lardons waiting in the wings......

I took a different route with the ham hock. I boiled a bunch of dried peas and when they were partially softened I drained them and tipped them in with the hock. Eight hours later I took the hock out and de-fatted and de-boned it. I pulled the meat apart but before I put it back in the cooker I blitzed the peas with the hand held whizzer and added the usual seasonings. Then I popped the meat back in and by teatime I had some lovely straight ham and pea soup. For dinner I had half a bowl of muesli. Today I will make the cabbage, onion and bacon and that will go in with the soup.

I made my cabbage, bacon and onion and it extended the ham and pea soup. Unwittingly I had one of Wendy's fasting days. I got so carried away by my conversation with John that I missed my afternoon sleep and my dinner! The consequence was I had nothing from 7PM on Tuesday until 5PM yesterday. I never felt hungry but was a bit cold by teatime when I had a bowl of ham and pea with cabbage plus cheese and oatcakes for afters.

I cooked more veggies yesterday and extended the ham and pea even further with cauliflower and carrots. I had the ham and pea X 2 for dinner and tea with oatcakes and cheese plus one apple for afters!

Was it a Hock Moh? I always think it's sweeter meat.
When Stewart delivered my mutton the other day he had minced all the breast. On Monday I defrosted all three packs and slow cooked for eight hours with a can of chopped tomatoes and one very large Spanish onion. I de-fatted it and froze half for the next cooking. Yesterday morning I added a pack of frozen green beans and some peas. I had muesli for dinner and the Mutton and beans for tea with one apple for pudding.

I had the breast and beans X 2 yesterday for dinner and tea. I got the frozen half of the minced breast out of the freezer on Monday and defrosted it in the fridge. Yesterday it went in the clean slow cooker with yesterdays veggie shopping, carrots first followed by fried cabbage, Kale, onion and bacon and slow cooked the rest of the day. We have another mutton and veggie stew that will do five meals......

I had a three egg omelette with mutton and cabbage filling for dinner and it was lovely, really enjoyed it. Half a bowl of stew for tea followed by Stilton on oatcakes, nuts and one small apple.
