How long is it since you had a banana butty. I had a loaf end hanging about last night so it got a coat of blackcurrant conserve (Bon Maman. I love it!) and two ripe bananas spread on it. Really enjoyed it. Some Soreen malt loaf for afters and later when I felt peckish, some Nairn's fine oatcakes with apple and cheddar.

I love bananna butties. Dave thinks I am mad but can't beat them on fresh brown bread. My mam used to eat them everyday for her breakfast and lived to be 95 and she died in her sleep of old age so didn't do her any harm. Remember going to a party when I was a child and they did bananna on bread with Cadbury's flake sprinkled on them they were yummy. Stanley only the best French jam for you eh? Eileen

Eileen, I love Bon Maman conserves, more fruit in them than any others I have found. I love the Apricot as well. I had some ripe bananas left so another banana butty last night!

On a Cyprus spud kick again. Spuds, peas and chicken for tea. Light, nourishing and very easy on the stomach!

We were taken out for tea last night to the Budda Lounge at Ramsbottom. Lovely food and good company but expensive if the money going on the table was anything to go by, it was a treat paid for by the kids for Dave's birthday as we will be away when it happens. Eileen

My spuds chicken and peas last night didn't cost much.... I have an old sirloin steak marinading for a superior steak butty for tea tonight.

I hope yours was as good as mine. Marinaded it all day in Worcestershire sauce and then split it in two and fried it. Worked a treat. Got some Cyprus spuds yesterday, guess what is on my mind.....

A bowl of cauliflower & courgette soup with a couple of Ryvita. Hubby watched that programme the other week called Eat, Fast and Live Longer. He was drawn by the idea that he could lower his blood sugar levels by fasting and is giving it a go on 2 days a week. He doesn't need to lose any weight but I do! Its too harsh a regime for me so when he fasting I am just eating light meals.

I watched last weeks with the low calorie pie made with piza dough as the crust as it has no fat in it. Got the thumbs up from the champion "pie man" as well. A good program and testament to the lads that weight loss can be achieved with tasty food and exercise. Good TV as well.

We have watched it Eileen. Colin was so impressed with the pizza base mix pies that a made a batch yesterday! Three for the freezer and one for tea tonight.

Let me know how you go on with the pies using pizza base. The chilli done in the crispy baskets with sour cream and cheese. I have had that in a pub who do a few things on the menu for weight watchers and they were very tasty. Last night just a sandwich as we ate out at lunch time in Southport. Tonight I think chippy night. I get a lightly battered fish and then remove the batter. Eileen

Two pork chops defrosting, some Charlotte potatoes on the bench. Cooler so I can feel a nourishing stew coming on!

Pork chops made the base of a stew. Marvellous what you can do with a bit of meat, garlic, cheap tinned tomatoes and peas bulked out with spuds. Got some good garlic bulbs at Chowdrey's, no vampires in this house! Funny, i used to dislike it but now I can stand two full bulbs in a pan!

Friday night is traditionally take-away night for us. It was a chinese last night, king prawn with ginger & spring onion.

Last night was a lightly battered fish with the batter removed. Tonight it's Chicken Korma and rice. How did the pies go Wendy. On the garlic front Dave and I eat a lot of pickled garlic when we are in France. Eileen
