They should have given you paperwork explaining what you'd been given and what to do if you experienced certain side effects.

If they did I don't remember it. All I was interested in was getting the jab....

(Irresponsible behaviour I know....)

They gave us a 4-page leaflet with full details of the vaccine, in our case `Comirnity Original/Omicron BA.1'. It's made by BioNTech and Pfizer. They have to give you the leaflet because it contains all the information about possible side effects and any incompatibility with drugs etc. We're fine, no side effects.

We got the Pfizer one as well along with a card for your wallet/purse to show you have had the jab and a leaflet explaining the possible side effects.

Some potentially bad news. A friend up North East appears to have suffered quite a severe covid booster reaction. Some two days after the booster she suffered a black out while travelling home on a bus. Whisked off to hospital they Initially thought it was a vasovagal episode. She then went on to have another black out again while sat down. This time after extensive tests on blood, heart, etc they concluded it was the covid booster. Had she been in a place where she could lie down she may have avoided the black out.

Talking of blacking out, this is interesting. It's about Postural Tachycardia Syndrome...

If you remember I blacked out and fell and cut my head a few weeks ago. No idea what the cause was but very unusual behaviour for me..... Not a lot of point speculating on it but it happened.

If you put Postural Tachycardia Syndrome and NHS into Google you'll find the NHS page has detailed advice on how to prevent `faints'.

I did it Peter and read the article.... It reminds me of the man in Three Men in a Boat who read the medical dictionary and found he had everything except Housemaid's Knee.

We only got a little card saying the name of the vaccine, we certainly didn’t get a four page leaflet explaining side effects.

Sounds like someone may have seen sense somewhere, people coming into the UK from China will need a negative Covid test.

Quite right, they should be tested before they go anywhere.

In one of the more recent videos on Covid in China
Dr J Campbell says he is relaxed about the addition numbers of the variant BA 5 which may come from passengers. The argument being that the UK is vaccinated against this variant and that there is some degree of immunity in the country. Of course there is always the worry the someone whose health is already compromised will be put in danger. The video is worth watching as an antidote to the normal media headlines.
Personally I think we are over reacting by taking measures because, A) It looks as though we are doing something. B) We can blame the Chinese for overloading the NHS.

I don't know who's right. All I know is that it sounds like a sensible and reasonable measure. I will never be 'relaxed' about a virus as infectious as this evidently is.

The testing measures are only temporary until the government assess the full data from China. They only apply to direct flights basically Heathrow ie: Germany are not applying checks so passengers changing flights in Germany and then onto the UK will not be checked. About as much use as Stanley's chocolate tea pot. These are
pre-departure tests so we will be relying on China to comply with our rules but just in case they don't we will starting Jan 8 to do a sample check where I suppose we will send all the passengers back. All total rubbish but it will make some people happy so who am I to argue.
China restrictions.

I an previous post I said that a plane from China had arrived in Italy with 50% Covid positive passengers. I then cast doubt upon it.
Now Dr John Campbell says it was on December 26th and was true - the actual figure was 52 %.
The Government is acting in a 'populist' way - not really following the science. .

I was of the impression that China weren't 'opening their borders' until January 8th. How did a plane load get to Italy?

Good question - I don't know. There do seem to have been regular flights from Beijing to Italy though. I guess there wasn't a total ban on travel fron China.
The Guardian seem to have accepted the story.
Flight China Italy
As previously the virus will call the shots - and we will react as best we can.

The NHS told us yesterday that we had a 'twindemic' of Covid and Flu without any added cases from China.
I don't see anything wrong with 'populist' as long as it's sensible.

It seems that Dr Nurse John Campbell has had two videos on Covid removed by Youtube.
I had begun to reassess my opinion on him recently having looked more closely at his biography. The jury is still out.
The video he posted yesterday said that a study from Cleveland Ohio, has shown that the more vaccine boosters you had- the bigger your chance of contracting a Covid infection. He said (sarcastically that many others would be rushing to repeat the study - unless they're not! ) At the end he offered (again) free downloads of his published medical books and hinted that he might not be on Youtube much longer.
I straight away made a copy of it. I'll look at it again when the dust has settled. Be interesting to see if any other research supports the idea.

If he and the Cleveland Study are right, there are a hell of a lot of people out there wasting their time.
[But what do I know about it....

I put it in the same class of cause and effect as.. More people drown when the sales of ice cream increase'. It could simply be a case that the more booster vaccines they have then they simply take bigger exposure risks. The paper was released prior peer review and although the facts may be correct more background is needed.

Finding a correlation like that, more boosters and more chance of infection reminds me of the correlation that was noted in Ireland for many years. There was a definite correlation between the number of barrels of Guinness brewed and the number of RC priests ordained.
