In case anyone is wondering why I am up at 02:00..... One of the problems with having a brain that works is that sometimes it kicks in at an inconvenient hour. This morning was one of those occasions. I have been vaguely wondering about two small events of late. Why my electricity usage monitor has stopped giving current consumption and a large electricity bill from British Gas.


I got two new batteries for the transmitter for the monitor and I'm pleased to say that did the trick, it's up and running again now and giving me a current reading. That's that one solved..... How strange that on the website there is no mention of any batteries only a message threatening dire consequences if you take the back off the unit.....

So it's a treacle miner's battery pack?

Naughty naughty China.... Of course it is the transmitter for my energy monitor which is now functioning perfectly, despite the manufacturer's dire warnings intended to get me to buy a new one.

Funnily enough you could both be on the right track (almost). It's definitely a thing of purpose. I'll leave it up for another day to see if anyone has any ideas.....

For dispensing brown paper from al roll, such as on a shop counter, for wrapping of purchases?

I guess it's used in a factory/mill for something that I have no idea of, but one last go... do these items help you to enter a 'man-hole' in the road?? Gasp, gasp...

I had previously only looked at this photo on my phone, but now that I'm looking at it on my computer they appear to joined together, oh dear I have no idea.

I'll tell you a secret Cathy..... Nether have I! Beyond the fact that it is an accessory that Johnny made for his big ornamental turning lathe. It's one of many bits and pieces that I have rescued over the years. You were all in the area of something that was used to manipulate or shape materials and that was quite correct. One of these days I might find out what and how!
