Apparently the Met Office are saying that there wont be any warm weather until mid August.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday stuck to the script and we had a dry afternoon with full sun and a clear sky by 20:00 but too late to warm anything up. This morning it is calm, dry and we have light broken overcast. The glass is up on 1015mb and the forecast is for bright overcast until 13:00 when heavy rain will come in and stay with us for the rest of the day. We will have light southerly winds all day but these won't help with the temperature, we will have a high of 14C and a low of 12C tonight with minimal wind chill. The six day outlook is for similar temperatures. The jet stream is deep into Europe and dragging in air from North Africa giving the astonishing highs we are seeing reported. On the whole I think we are better off with the low temperature we have than +45C!

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday was as forecast and the afternoon was dull and overcast but dry. At 20:00 it was calm cool and dry. This morning first thing we had a light breeze and rain. Since then it has stopped raining and now we have dry overcast. The glass has fallen to 1010mb. The forecast is for eventual sunny spells but with the chance of a shower almost any time. The mainly NW wind is light to moderate and gives us a high of 18C and a low of 9C with as much as -4C wind chill this afternoon. The outlook is for similar unseasonal weather, cool and showery.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday eventually gave us sun. At 20:00 we had full sun. First thing this morning it was calm and dry with broken overcast. It is still the same and the glass is up on 1013mb. The forecast is for a day of sunny intervals but dry until later this evening when there is a chance of a shower. The mainly WNW wind is light to moderate and gives us a high of 17C, a low of 11C tonight and a possible wind chill this afternoon of -3C. The outlook is for similar mixed weather for the next six days.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday was better than forecast and we had an afternoon of sunshine. At 20:00 it was still sunny. First thing this morning it was calm, dry and overcast, it hasn't changed since. The glass is down on 1010mb. The forecast is for rain to come in around 10:00. The westerly winds will be light to moderate giving us a high of 16C and a low of 12C with up to -3C wind chill this afternoon. The outlook is for a wet windy day tomorrow and then similar weather to today for the rest of the week. Summer hasn't returned yet but this is far preferable to the savage heat they are experiencing in Southern Europe.
Later at 06:00. We have light rain which wasn't on the hymn sheet!

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday was very uninteresting weather with frequent light showers! At 20:00 it was overcast and dull. First thing this morning it was dry but with evidence of a shower in the night. Now it's raining heavily. The glass is down on 1005mb. The forecast is for heavy rain all day. The constant SSW wind gives us a high of 15C and a low of 14C tonight with perhaps a -2C wind chill this afternoon. The outlook is for similar weather.... Deep Joy!

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday was wall to wall rain, the only thing that varied was the intensity. It was raining at 20:00 and we still had heavy rain first thing this morning. The glass is down on 993mb. The forecast is for rain all day, there's a yellow warning until midnight tonight. The constant ENE wind is light to moderate and gives us a high of 15C and a low of 11C with a wind chill of -2C this afternoon. The six day outlook is for similar weather but slightly warmer and drier.....

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Lots of traffic and delays on the A59 around Broughton and Heslacker Lane to Carleton with the Food Festival event. Problems apparently with parking at the event. We saw one report on Facebook last night where a family had queued 2.5 hours with little progress, they had paid £300 for their tickets and gave it up as a bad job, jacked it in a went home. We did all our goings and comings to Bradley and Silsden over the weekend via the Moss or over the tops through Lothersdale.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday was wet. It was still raining at 20:00. This morning the flags were wet but it had stopped raining during the night. The glass is up on 1002mb. The forecast promises us a sunny start but then clouding over and perhaps the chance of an isolated shower later. The northerly wind is light to moderate giving a high of 16C and a low of 10C with a -2C chill this afternoon. The outlook is for similar broken weather but gradually getting warmer and sunnier later in the week.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday was a much better day and at 20:00 we had late low sun. First thing this morning it was calm and dry but overcast. The overcast is ragged and broken now and we have had a very light shower if rain. The glass is up on 1005mb. The forecast is for sunny intervals all day with a chance of showers this afternoon. The constant WNW wind is light to moderate and gives us a high of 16C, a low of 11C tonight and as much as -3C wind chill this afternoon. The six day outlook is for warmer weather but always the chance of a light shower.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday was better than advertised in the forecast but at 20:00 we were overcast and no late sun. First thing this morning it was calm and overcast and this hasn't changed. The glass is up slightly on 1007mb. The forecast is for a dry day with sunny intervals until this evening when it will cloud over and be raining before dark. The constant SW winds are light to moderate and give us a high of 19C and a low of 14C tonight with a -2C wind chill this afternoon. The six day outlook is for similar mixed weather but a touch cooler than today.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday was exactly as the forecast, dry all day despite the clouds and rain starting in the early evening. At 20:00 it was raining quite hard. This morning we had light rain and it has not stopped. The glass is down on 995mb and the forecast is for rain all day. The mainly SW wind is moderate and gives us a high of 17C and a low of 15C tonight with a -2C chill this afternoon. The six day outlook is for similar weather but less rain apart from Monday which looks wet.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday was much drier than the forecast but even so, it was mainly overcast and at 20:00 there was no sun. This morning it was calm, dry and overcast and it hasn't changed since. The glass is up slightly on 999mb. The forecast is Overcast changing to light showers by lunchtime. The mainly SW wind starts light and becomes moderate this afternoon giving us a high of 19C and a low of 14C with an occasional -2C wind chill this afternoon. The 6 day outlook is for similar weather but slightly cooler, there is still rain forecast for Monday.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday managed to keep dry mainly but we had a lot of cloud. At 20:00 it was overcast but still dry. This morning first thing it was calm, dry and overcast and is still the same but we are promised rain within the hour. The glass is down a touch to just over 997mb. The forecast is for sunny intervals all day but the chance of a shower any time. The mainly WSW wind is brisk and gusts to over 30mph giving us a high of 17C and a low of 12C with a wind chill as high as -4C this afternoon. The six day outlook is for similar broken weather and still a rainy day on Monday.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday was much better than the forecast, sunny spells predominated and I only saw one light shower. At 20:00 we had a lot of cloud and no sun. First thing this morning it was raining and it hasn't changed since. The glass is up only a fraction on just under 999mb. The forecast is for rain, sometimes heavy, at almost any time during the day, the afternoon could be slightly drier but heavy rain will return this evening. The WSW wind is brisk and gusts to 35mph at times giving us a high of 16C, a low of 13C and a wind chill of up to -4C. The six day outlook still gives heavy rain all day tomorrow and then slightly warmer and drier as the week progresses.
