Last Friday when our temp reached 40C , it was actually 20C above the average for that day.
We are back to normal temps now for this part of November.
Hopefully we will get the rain forecast for Tuesday.

The week looks calm… Ahh 😊

Yesterday afternoon stayed gloomy and was dark early. At 20:00 it had stopped raining and was trying not to be overcast! First thing this morning it was dry but overcast and it hasn't changed. The glass has fallen to 993mb and is still falling. The forecast alerts us to storm Debi and warns us to expect strong winds and rain today. The wind starts as SSE moves into SSW and ends up in the west. It is strong and gusts to over 60mph at times giving us a high of 10C a low of 9C and at times a wind chill of -5C. In short, it's not a day for being outside unless you have to be! The rain will start any tine now and be with us all day. The outlook is for a windy showery day tomorrow but than the weather calms a bit and gets colder during the week. November is letting us know she is here!

Yesterday afternoon storm Debi was savage and frightening. I was glad I live in a group of stone houses that huddle together for protection. The gusts were howling through the wires and stacks. At 20:00, apart from the odd angry gust, the wind had subsided and we had rain spatters. First thing this morning it was still breezy with the odd violent gust to remind us of what had passed and it was raining lightly. It's still the same and the glass is on 992mb. The forecast says we are in for light rain. The WSW wind is moderate and gives us a high of 10C and a low of 8C tonight with -3C wind chill this afternoon. The outlook is for a similar end to the week but a very wet couple of days over the weekend. In short, it's November!

Yesterday afternoon was breezy and we had frequent spatters of rain. hardly enough to qualify as showers. By 20:00 it had settled to overcast and light rain. It was still like that first thing this morning and hasn't changed since. The glass has risen to just above 1002mb and is still rising slowly. The forecast is for an overcast day with light rain until early morning and a chance of a shower this afternoon. The constant west wind is brisk and could gust to almost 40mph at times. It gives us a high of 9C, a low of 4C tonight and a wind chill of -3C for much of the day. The outlook is for a couple of cooler dry days and then Saturday and Sunday will be wet but warmer.

Yesterday afternoon we had light spatters of rain again but by 20:00 they had ceased and it was just overcast and damp. This morning first thing it was calm, clear and dry, It hasn't changed since. The glass is up again on 1010mb and steady. The forecast is for a dry but overcast day with heavy rain coming in this evening. The variable wind is very light and after dallying in the east and north during the day finishes up in the south this evening (with the rain). Our high will be 8C and the low tonight 4C with only a slight wind chill during the day. The outlook is one more cold day like today then Saturday and Sunday will be warmer, in double figures, with sunny spells and heavy showers. Then back to single digit November again.....

Yesterday afternoon we had some scattered rain showers and at 20:00 we had very light rain. First thing this morning we had signs of there having been rain during the night but it is dry and overcast at the moment. The glass is still on 1010mb and the forecast is for the day to start clear but then become overcast by late morning. The Southerly wind will start moderate and then become light giving us a high of 7C and a low of 5C tonight with perhaps a -2C wind chill at times. The outlook is still for two warmer days over the weekend but less rain tomorrow than they were forecasting. Sunday will however still be be very wet. The rest of the week is forecast to be colder, very similar to today.

It has rained very hard during the night, it was still drizzling at around 8am, but, the sun is now out and hardly a cloud in the sky.

We had the same story here Gloria, started clear but soon reverted to typical November!
Yesterday afternoon was heavily overcast and it went dark early. At 20:00 it was the same and still dry but this morning we have heavy rain. The glass has dropped to 1008mb and is still falling rapidly. The forecast is for the rain to cease around mid-morning and then leave us with an overcast day.... so what's new? The SW wind is brisk and gusts to almost 40mph. It gives us a tropical high of 13C and a low tonight of 10C with a -3C wind chill this afternoon. Tomorrow will be a similar wet, windy and mild day but then the week will revert to November with single figure temperatures.

Grey and mizzling again. Did manage for about an hour to get some washing out yesterday, but it didn’t do a lot for it.

I've just got back from my walk and a sit on the bench at the end of Albert Road supervising the parking. I walked round the stalls in the Town Square, we have a market and a fair today. Nothing to really grab my attention, I was looking for a cheese stall. Very mild sat out there and the warm wind is drying things out.

Yesterday afternoon managed to stay dry but the wind never really dried things up.... At 20:00 it was still breezy, dry but overcast. This morning it was breezy and clear, the flags drying up.... The glass is down on 995mb and the forecast is for heavy rain to come in mid-morning. The SW wind is brisk and gusting to 40mph. It will give us a high of 11C, a low tonight of 8C and a wind chill of -3C almost all day. The outlook is for drier weather but mostly still in double figures for the next 6 days. November is treating us very well, we must be grateful.....

Cathy, that's tropical for us in Barlick! Margaret has just mailed me the figures for Perth and they have temperatures up into the 40s forecast for this week. She says the hot weather has come too early there....

Yesterday it rained all day and at 20:00 when I logged off it was still raining. This morning we have a light breeze, a cool morning, it's dry and we have a clear sky. The flags are drying after rain during the night. The glass has gone up to 1000mb and the forecast is for a dry but clouded day. The westerly winds will be light and give a high of 10C with a low of 7C tonight. There will be a -2C wind chill during the day. The six day outlook is for very similar weather, no surprises it seems.....

Well I went out for my veggies to the Town Square and while I was sat on the bench having a pork pie I had a nice chat with Postman Pete. He's well but has had his share of medical matters having been in for heart valve maintenance.

Here we go again. I had a change, and wen to Lidl yesterday - it's a long story, and I intended to go to Matalan in Biggleswade, but failed to find it (!!). The place was throbbing - don't talk to me about 'cost of living crisis'. I found myself on the A1 Southbound with no escape , so changed plan, and tried Lidl at Baldock instead. There I bought a Melton Mowbray pork pie. Recent after - experiences with such, have not been the best - but I'll give it another chance.
