Apart from the shed, my other task this morning is to call in at Newtown Carpets on the Square (Support local traders!) and get my new bathroom carpet moving. I called round yesterday but they were closed. It's very noticeable that whereas once of a day Barlick ignored Bank Holidays because they were all rolled up in a week long September holiday, these days they close.

Ordered the carpet yesterday. Fitter comes to measure up tomorrow. First task today is to cut an inch off the bottom of the bathroom door.... Then into the shed!

I like my home comforts Maz. Imagine bare feet on a cold surface in the winter..... I have memories of getting out of bed onto a linoleum floor in an unheated bedroom in mid winter.....

Our "lino" is cushion vinyl and not like the old shiny stuff, it's quite warm to walk on even in winter, a bath mat adds to the comfort.

Today I shall be dashing back to Nanning on a high speed train to hand-over our 'spare' apartment to a friend who has agreed to lease it from me. The Chinese high speed train system is awesome and I love traveling this way. This section is operated at only 210 km/h, but that is still over 2 miles a minute as we go through the farmland and lush countryside in absolute comfort. 112km, 40 minutes, £4. Not bad eh? Then we arrive in the big city and engage crawler gear!

Time to clean up and pack up. It's the ferry tomorrow. What a difference a week of sun makes. Even here it was wintry last Friday but the last 4 days have been magnificent and really brought out the blooms

There the right way up Sue, and very nice!

Today I have mainly been doing Business Studies practical, (90 minutes) and lots of retrieving printouts of work, followed by the rest of the day spent in the Art exam. Another full day on that tomorrow, Art is a 10 hours in total exam.

Much better than using the attachment facility, which is more for files, the gallery is designed to handle the images, they will scale better as well.

Heading home from Hadrians Wall having been overwhelmed with facts about the Roman armies and not certain if I have actually taken anything in! Had a wonderful few days holiday though. Today we are leaving the Romans behind and visiting Lanercost Priory before setting off in our different directions.
Looking forward to seeing Dennis & Sparky, Bertie & Bruce and Colin of course who has been looking after them all while I have been enjoying myself. I wonder if he has cut the grass.......

Nice to hear you have had a good break Wendy. Have you ever read Kipling's 'Puck of Pook's Hill'? There are two stories in there about the Wall which if you haven't read them will enchant you.... (My favourite book, fairy stories with solid history behind them and wonderfully written.)
I shall be carrying on with my holes......

Maz, your son would love these trains. You should get him to come over and have a bus-man's holiday. These are the slowest of the high speed trains but still seem to have tremendous power. They are emu (electrical multiple units). I timed the train as it left Pingguo and it took less than 4 minutes to reach 210 km/h in spite of it being a gradual uphill for these first few kilometers. Then we entered the first of several tunnels and I woke up in Nanning 35 minutes later! That's what I call a relaxing journey.
