Mmmm, we may have to insist that you read it under Rule 432 of the OGFB Book Club Rules :deal2:

I wouldn't bother Sue.
I have started another one of hers Vanishing Acts, don't quite know what to make of it as yet, but they do keep you wanting to read more.

Been having a look on Amazon for another book to read and am drawn to this one. What do you think?

Looks interesting. I'll see if I can get it from our library.
Been on line and ordered it, there are 23 in Lancashire Libraries and all are either out or in transit at the moment---seems popular, so hopefully it will be good.

I'll let you know when mine arrives at the library. Do we wait until everyone finishes before reviewing? Probably a daft question that.

I hadn't realised that it wasn't available in paperback. Do you just order it at the library Gloria? I might try that.
I think I would prefer to talk about a book as soon as I've finished it....otherwise I'll forget all about it and have to read it again!

I've bought it on kindle for £6 something

Yes you can order it from Lancashire Libraries-- are you a member? if so you just need to log on with your membership number and off you go. There is a cost of 60p, I think, if it has to come from another library.

Mine hasn't arrived yet, so I am still on with Vanishing Acts, and still not 100% sure of what to make of it. I usually only read at night for an hour or so and it tends to take a bit of remembering what it's about, not a good sign that.

Me too Gloria, I only read at night

No Gloria I decided to download it onto my tablet thingy (which isn't an ipad as my hubby wont allow any apples except fresh ones into the house). I read at night too and sometimes in the morning if I am awake early.

Reading in bed. I once read the whole of the Lord of the Rings trilogy to Vera, a chapter every night. The following night I used to ask what she remembered and start again from there. Can't remember how long it took to get through it but I'll bet there aren't many people who have done it as bedtime reading!

The book has still not arrived at the library, apparently is was reviewed on the radio (librarian thinks) and everyone is being read. I think it is brilliant that people still like to turn the pages of a book.
Vanishing Acts is very nearly finished, it had better have a good ending or else I shall wonder why I carried on with it.

Harold Fry is worth the wait Gloria. I'm about two thirds through and so far it is a delight.

Finished Vanishing Acts and though it was an easier read than the others I have read of hers I am still not 100% sure about it. It was difficult to remember the plot after having put the book down, which is never a good sign, and also, it was one of those books in which each chapter was another characters view. If I had read this first I would probably not have read any of her others.
Still waiting for the book from the library---you are both going to have finished yours before mine even gets here. Should we choose one for October then I can order it well in advance??
