Best of luck with the interview Christian.
Liz, it means putting a lot more effort into managing the ponies through the summer. It's so nice to have a break from mucking out and soaking haynets! Back to both now for a while at least. Neither of the ponies are fat, but their age means there is probably underlying Cushings disease, which makes them prone to laminitis....that's what the vet says anyway. :geek:

Good news about Colin, Wendy

We have had an excellent week in the lakes so far. Lots of good food, good company, good walking , and good weather. Today we are off to Keswick, but the weather looks poor today. We are planning a short walk above the town.

Home today. Only one completely damp day, yesterday. We spent the morning at Holker Hall and gardens and after lunch visited Hawkshead, which was very crowded for the Rose Queen celebrations.in all damp was more appropriate than wet and it was still very warm. We will class this as our best week in 10 years. It's the first time we have sat out on the balcony at night or outside the bar by the beck.

Sewing today. My dress and coat for my nephews wedding in August is nearly finished but I am running out of time before we decamp to France for the summer. I have a machine in France but it does not do all the things that my machine here does. I also have to prepare a toile for a cotton top . When I go on my annual art week to Kendal in two weeks I plan to do some fabric printing to then it use for the front of the cotton top , so I need to a) make sure I have a pattern that fits , and b) have pattern size pieces cut out to do the printing.

It's all go.

The garden has doubled in size whilst in the lakes, and at last my veggie seedlings have taken. Let's hope they are not now too big to transport to France

I need to try and cut the grass this morning despite it being wet...another few wet days and it will be impossible. A funeral to go to this afternoon though, one of my fellow local history volunteers at Colne Library sadly died and our little group will miss his company.

Did you just copy & paste the link instead of using the Insert Image tool?

You copied the wrong string Sue. It should be the Image URL not the thumbnail string

Also as Wendy says, you should use the Insert Image function.

Thank you all for your good luck wishes..

It was a 2nd Interview(Technical one) to make sure I wasn't a complete blagger! Turns out I'm not and I've been invited back for a "meet&greet" shortly to meet my new Line Manager, The interview started at 15:30 and I didn't get out till 18:10, on a Friday I'm assuming it were a bloody good sign as clocking off for them is 17:15. Fingers crossed that goes swimmingly and it should be mine :)

I haven't been this excited in ages

Thanks for the technical revision lesson everyone . I will get there eventually. It's a very green garden at the moment Wendy. The peony is rotting in the buds, the poppies have been smashed by the rain.

Well done Christian, glad you got the job.
Sue, my mint keeps bending over with the weight of water but recovers when it dries off. Never seen it do that before, must be because it is so rampant!
My valves are not rampant or drooping, just growing slowly and accurately!

This morning I am having a dress fitting session with my sewing teacher.its nearly finished. This afternoon I am helping at the hospice shop. It's dance exercise tonight but I may not go. Numbers are falling off as the teacher seems to have list her enthusiasm. I recognise the signs, start late and finish early, cancel regularly.

My first job is to buy some new wellies as mine have split...I'm getting wet feet every time I venture out. I also need to stock up with shavings & feed for the ponies as they are having to stay inside more. This afternoon it's a History Society Committee meeting.

I've been sewing all day ( campervan curtains...using the old ones as a guide and trying to improve what was there). I'm afraid I disappear into another world when I am sewing and always find it a shock that time has marched on, I missed lunch, and it is time to stop or there will be no tea! It is like suddenly seeing the room for the first time all day and I am always amazed how much mess I have made.,( and I hate "coming back" to the real world when my brain has been flying free all day. It is the same when I am gardening. I lose all my brain anchor points!)
Luckily I made Soup yesterday and enough for two nights...
We are having guests stay two nights this week, but we have had no firm confirmation of their arrival. Early discussion suggested Tuesday/Wednesday...then it was Wednesday/Thursday...which turned into Friday/Saturday. No update since!'I must abandon my sewing at some stage and make up the guest room/guest bathroom before I get caught out in a spaced out sewing haze with no dinner at all on the horizon.

I am also oblivious to the world when I am sewing. I would rather finish the piece I am doing than eat, clean, shop or do any of the other essential distractions

I call it 'shed fever' and am very good now at fighting it.... Mainly because if I exceed 2 or 3 hours standing in the shed I pay for it in aches and pains!
I've been looking at my stockpile of articles and I need to have a writing session to cover me until I get back for teaching in July. This means I have to write six articles in the next week or so.... So it looks as though the shed will be missed today.....
